Project Manager- Archer Implementation
Operations
Remote
Project Manager
Location: Remote (EST hours)
Duration: 6-18 months
Interviews: 2 Rounds
The bank is launching a multi‑year, enterprise‑wide risk transformation initiative centered on replacing its 13–14‑year‑old Archer risk management system with a new, modern Archer platform (likely Archer Evolve). This is not an upgrade—it is a full system replacement plus a major operating‑model redesign for how risk is managed across the bank.
Key drivers:
- Current Archer tool only supports a few pillars of risk and is outdated.
- Regulators expect more robust, enterprise‑wide risk processes as the bank approaches Category 3 status.
- EY performed a readiness assessment and determined the bank is not ready to begin technical implementation.
- The next 6 months will focus on:
- Target‑state operating model design
- Process redesign
- Change management
- Requirements gathering
- Technical build is expected to begin Q1 2027.
- Full program expected to run through late 2028 / early 2029.
- Estimated cost: tens of millions (not hundreds).
Additional complexity:
- Legacy Archer is being migrated to the cloud by Nov 2026 (separate initiative).
- New implementation will leverage enterprise Snowflake for data storage and reporting.
- Significant culture change required: shifting risk ownership back to first line.
Role Overview
This Project Manager will support a multi‑year, enterprise‑wide risk transformation replacing the bank’s legacy Archer system with a modern platform and redesigning risk processes across first, second, and third lines. The PM will operate at both the program level and the data & reporting horizontal, helping organize work, manage governance routines, and drive readiness for a major technical implementation beginning in Q1 2027.

- Drive visibility, accountability, and follow‑through across the initiative.
- Support the Data & Reporting horizontal, helping assess current‑state reporting, define future‑state strategy, and stabilize reporting processes.
- Assist with requirements gathering and readiness activities leading up to the technical build in 2027.
- Operate effectively in a fast‑moving, ambiguous environment with evolving processes and limited maturity in risk tooling.
