We are partnering with a leading technology organization seeking a DevOps Engineer to join their Core Platforms team on a fully remote, 6-month contract. In this role, you will help advance the client's CI/CD capabilities, deployment automation, and overall platform reliability.

You will design and implement GitHub-based pipelines that empower development teams to deliver high-quality software quickly, safely, and consistently. You will play a critical role in standardizing GitHub Actions workflows, improving release reliability, and optimizing the developer experience across multiple platforms. By partnering closely with engineering, QA, and platform teams, you will drive the adoption of modern CI/CD practices, reduce operational friction, and ensure secure, scalable deployment processes across the enterprise.

Responsibilities

· Design and Optimize: Build, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, ensuring high performance, reliability, and scalability.

· Standardize Workflows: Develop reusable workflow templates and shared GitHub Actions. Establish and enforce best practices for GitHub workflows, branching strategies, and CI/CD standardization across multiple repositories and teams.

· Orchestrate and Automate: Implement advanced workflow orchestration, including parallelization, dependency management, and quality gates (testing, scanning, validation). Automate build, test, release, and deployment processes.

· Enhance Reliability: Improve pipeline stability through the strategic use of timeouts, retries, and caching. Implement comprehensive logging, alerting, and observability for pipelines and environments.

· Integrate and Support: Integrate CI/CD pipelines with modern deployment platforms (e.g., Vercel or container environments). Monitor pipeline health and actively troubleshoot build, deployment, and runtime issues.

· Empower Teams: Enable self-service CI/CD capabilities for engineering teams. Act as a subject matter expert, providing guidance on GitHub, CI/CD, and DevOps best practices to continuously improve delivery performance and reduce deployment failures.

Minimum qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).

· 4+ years of experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, or a related role.

· Strong hands-on experience designing, building, and maintaining end-to-end CI/CD pipelines.

· Deep expertise with GitHub Actions and GitHub Workflows (.yml files).

· Proficiency with Git, modern branching strategies, and core CI/CD concepts (build, test, deploy automation).

· Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or Node.js.

· Experience with containerization technologies, specifically Docker.

Preferred qualifications:

· Experience migrating CI/CD pipelines from legacy systems (e.g., Jenkins or Bitbucket) to GitHub Actions.

· Demonstrated experience building enterprise-scale CI/CD standards and platform tooling.

· Experience with container orchestration, particularly Kubernetes.

· Familiarity with GitOps practices and Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).

· Understanding of modern deployment ecosystems (e.g., Vercel) and application monitoring/observability tools.

· Experience implementing security scanning tools (SAST, dependency scanning) within pipelines.

· Industry-recognized DevOps certifications (e.g., AWS, Kubernetes).

· Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills with an ownership mindset.
