Instructional Designer (Contract) – Remote
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Instructional Designer to support enterprise learning initiatives by designing and updating engaging e-learning content. This role will focus heavily on Articulate Storyline development, collaborating with stakeholders and SMEs to deliver high-quality, interactive training solutions aligned with adult learning best practices.
This is a 100% remote, 6-month contract opportunity supporting a high-impact training project with tight deadlines and multiple concurrent deliverables.
Key Details
- Duration: 6-month contract
- Schedule: 40 hours/week (Monday–Friday, 8-hour days)
- Hours: Between 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (EST/CST/MST/PST flexibility)
- Location: Fully Remote (U.S.)
- Pay Rate: Up to $40/hour (W2, max – firm)
- Start Date: ASAP
- Interview Process: 1–2 rounds via Microsoft Teams + portfolio review
What You’ll Do
- Design, develop, and implement interactive e-learning solutions using Articulate Storyline
- Apply ADDIE or similar instructional design methodologies to create effective learning content
- Partner with SMEs and stakeholders to translate business needs into engaging learning experiences
- Update and enhance existing learning materials to improve engagement and effectiveness
- Develop storyboards, scripts, and course content for digital learning modules
- Integrate multimedia elements including video, audio, and interactive components
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet strict deadlines
- Evaluate and continuously improve learning solutions based on feedback and performance metrics
- Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams including Talent Development and IT
Required Qualifications
- 3–5+ years of instructional design experience
- Advanced expertise with:
- Articulate Storyline (required)
- Camtasia (video editing)
- Learning Management Systems (LMS)
- Strong understanding of:
- Adult learning theory and instructional design principles
- ADDIE model or similar frameworks
- Proven ability to create interactive, engaging e-learning content
- Experience managing multiple projects with tight timelines
- Strong communication, organization, and stakeholder collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite
- Background in graphic design for e-learning
- Project management experience
- Industry experience in:
- Healthcare / behavioral health
- Federal or military environments

- High attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Comfortable working independently in a remote environment
Education
- Bachelor’s degree preferred (or equivalent experience)
