Assembly Technician (Contract-to-Hire)
Location: Dallas, TX
Pay Rate: $22–$23/hour
Duration: 4-month contract to hire
Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Assembly Technician to support manufacturing operations in a fast-paced environment. This role involves assembling mechanical and electronic components, performing quality checks, and ensuring adherence to production standards.
The ideal candidate has hands-on assembly experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to follow technical instructions and schematics.
Schedule
- First Day: 8:00 AM – 2:30 PM
- Regular Shift: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM (Monday–Friday)
- Overtime:
- Voluntary overtime available
- Occasional mandatory overtime (approx. once per month)
- Paid at time-and-a-half
Key Responsibilities
- Perform detailed assembly of small mechanical and electrical components
- Assemble parts and subassemblies using hand tools, fixtures, and templates
- Read and interpret work instructions, diagrams, schematics, and drawings
- Inspect components and finished products to ensure quality and specifications
- Perform incoming inspection of materials and inventory
- Identify and escalate defects or quality issues
- Maintain equipment and tools, including basic troubleshooting
- Document production and quality data accurately
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Collaborate with technicians, assemblers, and engineers as needed
- Support continuous improvement initiatives
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 1+ year of assembly experience in manufacturing (medical device or regulated environment preferred, e.g., aerospace)
- Experience with small-part assembly (e.g., wiring, circuit work)
- Strong manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and technical documentation
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
Preferred Background
- Medical device assembly experience
- Strong fulfillment or warehouse experience with manual assembly tasks
- Familiarity with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) environments
