Claims Examiner - Liability

Our client is currently seeking a Claims Examiner – Liability to handle complex general liability claims, including high-exposure and litigated cases. This role requires strong analytical skills, sound judgment, and the ability to drive claims to timely and cost-effective resolutions while maintaining compliance with industry standards and client requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Investigate, evaluate, and manage complex general liability claims from intake through resolution
- Determine liability exposure and develop action plans to ensure timely claim resolution
- Negotiate settlements within designated authority levels
- Establish, monitor, and adjust claim reserves throughout the claim lifecycle
- Process and approve payments, ensuring accuracy and compliance
- Manage litigated claims, coordinating with legal teams and external vendors
- Identify and pursue subrogation and recovery opportunities
- Ensure compliance with state regulations, client guidelines, and internal procedures
- Maintain clear, accurate, and complete claim documentation
- Communicate effectively with claimants, clients, and internal stakeholders
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3+ years of general liability claims experience
- Litigation handling experience preferred
- Active Florida (FL) Adjuster License – Required
- Strong knowledge of claims investigation, liability determination, and settlement practices
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment
Preferred Skills
- Experience managing high-exposure claims
- Strong understanding of cost containment and vendor management
- Familiarity with regulatory reporting and compliance standards
