Senior Data Engineer

Work Location: Remote

Duration: 12+ months contract

We’re looking for a Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and manage scalable data pipelines across GCP and Azure for healthcare data. You will take full ownership of ETL/ELT pipelines—from design to production support—while ensuring performance, reliability, and compliance (HIPAA).

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using GCP, Azure, BigQuery, and SQL Server
• Design data models (dimensional modeling, SCDs, schema design)
• Orchestrate workflows using Airflow, ADF, Cloud Composer, or similar tools
• Ensure secure handling of PHI data and follow HIPAA compliance
• Deploy pipelines using Git & CI/CD, and monitor production systems
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions
• Mentor junior engineers and drive best practices

Required Skills

• 7+ years in Data Engineering (senior-level experience)
• Strong expertise in SQL + Python or Java
• Experience building automated batch/streaming data pipelines
• Hands-on with cloud platforms (GCP, Azure)
• Experience with orchestration tools (Airflow, ADF, etc.)
• Strong data modeling and performance optimization skills
• Knowledge of HIPAA/PHI data handling
• Proficiency with Git and CI/CD

• Exposure to modern data trends (ELT, semantic layers, AI/LLM tools)
• Strong problem-solving and proactive mindset

Education

Bachelor’s degree in computer science/IT or equivalent experience
