A growing healthcare organization is seeking a Director of Quality & Accreditation to lead and enhance its quality management framework supporting specialty pharmacy operations.
This role will be responsible for driving accreditation readiness, regulatory compliance, patient safety, and continuous quality improvement across the organization. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in specialty pharmacy workflows and accreditation standards, along with a strong ability to leverage data and analytics to improve performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Quality Management & Performance:
- Design, implement, and oversee the organization’s Quality Management Program
- Establish and monitor key quality metrics (e.g., adherence, patient outcomes, dispensing accuracy, safety)
- Lead quality governance, including committees and reporting cadences
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and standardize best practices
- Present quality performance insights and reports to leadership
Accreditation & Compliance:
- Serve as subject matter expert for URAC, ACHC, and NABP accreditation standards
- Lead accreditation readiness, renewals, audits, and licensing processes
- Maintain ongoing compliance through policy management, documentation, and internal audits
- Translate regulatory and accreditation standards into operational workflows
CQI & Medication Safety:
- Oversee investigation of dispensing errors, near misses, and quality events
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective/preventive actions
- Lead Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) initiatives
- Track error trends and identify systemic risks and improvement opportunities
Data Analytics & Reporting:
- Analyze operational and quality data to identify trends, risks, and performance gaps
- Build dashboards and reporting frameworks to monitor quality metrics
- Translate data insights into actionable business improvements
Process Improvement & Systems:
- Partner with operations and IT to enhance workflows, controls, and automation
- Identify opportunities for system improvements to reduce risk and improve efficiency
- Lead process optimization initiatives to support scalability and compliance
Regulatory Oversight & Audit Management:
- Ensure compliance with federal and state pharmacy regulations
- Lead internal audits and coordinate external inspections and reviews
- Manage audit responses, documentation, and corrective action plans
Cross-Functional Leadership:
- Collaborate with pharmacy, clinical, compliance, operations, and executive teams
- Provide training on quality standards, accreditation requirements, and patient safety
- Support new program launches to ensure alignment with quality and compliance standards
Executive Reporting & Governance:
- Provide regular updates to leadership on quality performance and risks
- Maintain visibility into accreditation readiness and compliance across operations
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced healthcare-related degree preferred
- 8+ years of experience in specialty pharmacy, healthcare quality, or accreditation
- Strong expertise in:
- URAC Specialty Pharmacy Accreditation
- ACHC standards
- NABP / distribution compliance
- Experience with quality programs, CQI, and regulatory compliance
- Strong analytical skills with experience using data to drive improvements
- Knowledge of Lean/Six Sigma or process improvement methodologies is preferred
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence stakeholders
