Location: Must reside in CT, IA, IL, IN, MA, ME, MI, MN, ND, NE, NH, NJ, NY, OH, PA, RI, SD, VT, or WI. Hybrid remote structure requiring at least 2 days per week in a local office.
Duration: Contract | 1+ Years
Pay rate: $65-$70/hr on W2

Position Summary

Join our design team as a Senior Structural Engineer to lead and execute structural analysis and design for diverse projects. In this hybrid role, you will collaborate across disciplines to develop design concepts, perform complex calculations, and oversee the creation of technical design documents. You will have the opportunity to serve as a Lead Structural Engineer for medium-sized projects or a Sub-Lead for major, large-scale initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Structural Analysis & Design

• Perform advanced structural engineering analysis and design with minimal supervision.
• Apply independent evaluation, selection, and adaptation of standard engineering techniques.
• Execute lateral analysis and design, including strict compliance with wind and seismic code provisions.
• Complete design and analysis for traditional steel and concrete structures.

Quality Assurance & Ownership

• Maintain rigorous attention to detail and conduct self-checks on all deliverables.
• Perform detailed calculation checks and peer reviews of work generated by other engineers.
• Manage personal workload to meet project schedules, budget constraints, and quality standards.
• Define project scope, forecast required effort, and identify scope changes for escalation.

Leadership & Collaboration

• Lead small teams and collaborate closely with discipline leads, engineers, and designers.
• Provide technical guidance, coaching, and mentorship to junior engineers and drafters.
• Advance internal workflows, systems, and tools by embracing emerging engineering technologies.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

• Education: Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (Emphasis in Structural Engineering).
• Licensure: Professional Engineer (PE) License.
• Experience: 10+ years in structural engineering, including small team leadership.
• Codes: Proficiency with US codes (IBC, ASCE 7, ACI, AISC).
• Software: Proficiency with Navisworks, Bluebeam, and structural analysis software.
• Skills: Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Requirements

• Education: Master’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Licensure: Structural Engineer (SE) License.
• Sector Experience: Prior work on semiconductor or general industrial facilities.
• Software: Specific experience using STAAD.

Work Environment & Location

• Type: Hybrid remote structure requiring at least 2 days per week in a local office.
