About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Analytics Engineer to support a major enterprise reporting and data migration initiative. This role is heavily focused on hands-on development (approximately 90%), with additional responsibility for providing technical guidance and leadership to the team.

The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Snowflake, Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, and semantic data modeling, along with the ability to collaborate closely with Data Engineers and QA teams to deliver scalable, enterprise-level BI solutions.

Responsibilities

Business Intelligence Development

• Design, build, and maintain end-to-end BI solutions using Microsoft technologies
• Develop scalable semantic layers using Fabric, Cube, and SSAS/AAS
• Design and implement data models, KPIs, and metrics for enterprise reporting
• Build and optimize Power BI dashboards and reports
• Support analytics and reporting workloads using Snowflake

Collaboration & Technical Leadership

• Provide technical direction and guidance to team members
• Partner closely with Data Engineering and QA teams to deliver high-quality solutions
• Gather and refine requirements from business stakeholders
• Act as a subject matter expert for BI best practices
• Mentor and train team members on tools, modeling, and analytics approaches
• Manage timelines, priorities, and deliverables

Administration & Optimization

• Manage and maintain Power BI Service environments
• Troubleshoot and optimize reports, semantic models, and cubes
• Maintain documentation, metadata, and data definitions
• Support data governance and best practices initiatives

Minimum Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with Snowflake
• Advanced proficiency in Power BI
• Experience with semantic modeling (Cube, SSAS, or AAS)
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric
• Strong skills in SQL, DAX, and Power Query
• Proven ability to lead technically and provide guidance to teams
• Experience working in cross-functional environments with Data Engineering and QA

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Snowflake Cortex, Microsoft Copilot, or other AI tools
• Proficiency in Python or PowerShell
• Experience with Databricks
• Microsoft certifications in relevant technologies
• Exposure to LLMs, AI data agents, or advanced analytics solutions

Day-to-Day Expectations

• 90% hands-on development, building and optimizing BI solutions
• 10% leadership and team support, including mentoring and technical guidance
• Deliver enterprise reporting solutions at scale
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to drive project success
