Job Title: Network Implementation Engineer – 5G / Network Edge Operations (Night Shift)
Location: United States (Multiple Time Zones)
Shift: 3rd Shift | 10-hour days | 4 days/week (Monday–Thursday nights)
Job Overview
We are looking for a highly skilled Network Implementation Engineer to support large-scale 5G network deployment and edge operations. This role focuses on advanced configuration, upgrades, and deployment of carrier-grade network infrastructure across a complex, multi-vendor environment.
The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with IP networking, routing protocols, and fabric architectures, along with the ability to execute critical changes during maintenance windows without impacting network performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prioritize, and execute network changes during scheduled maintenance windows with minimal supervision
- Deploy configurations for 5G network services across:
- Service Aggregation Points (SAP)
- Transport Aggregation Points (TAP)
- Implement advanced Layer 2 / Layer 3 (L2/L3) configurations in spine-leaf architectures
- Perform network OS upgrades and configuration deployments on multi-vendor environments (Cisco, Juniper, Nokia)
- Execute MOPs (Methods of Procedure) and automated workflows to ensure error-free implementation
- Monitor network performance before, during, and after maintenance windows using network tools
- Collaborate with engineering teams to review configurations and validate deployment plans
- Troubleshoot issues and ensure service continuity with zero/minimal downtime
- Lead and communicate during change control windows, ensuring smooth execution
- Proactively manage rescheduling and take ownership of incomplete implementations
- Suggest improvements to network deployment processes and automation frameworks
Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or 5+ years of relevant networking experience
- Strong hands-on experience with:
- IP Networking (IPv4/IPv6, L1–L3)
- VXLAN and fabric/spine-leaf architectures
- Routing protocols: BGP and IS-IS
- Proven experience deploying network configurations in live production environments
- Experience supporting virtualized network services and modern telecom infrastructure
- Strong understanding of end-to-end network call flows
- Experience using automation tools for network configuration deployment
- High attention to detail with strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, high-pressure environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Certifications such as:
- Cisco CCNP / CCIE
- Nokia networking certifications
- Experience with carrier-grade or telecom networks (5G preferred)
- Familiarity with network monitoring and orchestration tools
Work Conditions
