Accounting Specialist (Contract)
Location: Dallas, TX
Duration: May 25, 2026 – January 29, 2027 (extension possible)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Employment Type: Contract (W2)
Pay Rate: $35/hour

About the Role
We are looking for an Accounting Specialist to support core accounting operations, including month-end close, financial reporting, reconciliations, and compliance. This role partners closely with finance and field operations teams to ensure accurate financial processes, strong internal controls, and timely reporting.
Responsibilities
- Support month-end close and financial reporting activities
- Review contracts and amendments to ensure accurate system setup
- Process and validate opening and closing accounting packages
- Ensure invoicing aligns with contractual agreements
- Collaborate with field operations to resolve accounting discrepancies
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations for asset and liability accounts
- Prepare and maintain supporting reconciliation documentation
- Monitor and maintain SOX controls and testing activities
- Support internal and external audits, including schedules and analysis
- Contribute to ad hoc accounting and finance projects
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 1–3 years of relevant accounting experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Experience with ERP accounting systems
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication and collaboration abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Oracle ERP
- Knowledge of SOX compliance and internal controls
- Background in supporting field accounting within a centralized environment
