About the Role

We are looking for a highly motivated Network Implementation Engineer to help design, deploy, and scale a large, multi-vendor nationwide data network. This role focuses on advanced configuration, OS upgrades, and implementation of carrier-grade networking platforms, while supporting our transition to modern, software-defined and virtualized network architectures.

You will work closely with Engineering, Capacity Planning, and Operations teams to deliver high-impact networking projects and help drive the evolution from VXLAN to next-generation platforms.

What You’ll Do

• Configure, deploy, and upgrade carrier-class Cisco and Nokia network devices
• Execute network changes during scheduled maintenance windows with minimal supervision
• Plan and coordinate implementation activities across cross-functional teams
• Support deployment of virtualized and software-defined network (SDN) environments
• Implement and maintain eNSE fabric, edge connectivity, and routing infrastructure
• Perform circuit turn-up, migration, and decommissioning activities
• Troubleshoot Layer 1–3 network issues (fiber, copper, routing, switching)
• Use automation tools (e.g., Python, NSO, DCNM) to streamline operations
• Validate network performance using monitoring tools before and after changes
• Review and execute Method of Procedure (MOP) documentation
• Collaborate remotely with field teams to install and troubleshoot equipment
• Maintain accurate updates in change management systems

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or 4+ years of relevant experience
• Hands-on experience with routing and switching (Cisco/Nokia/Juniper)
• Strong knowledge of:
• TCP/IP (IPv4 & IPv6)
• MPLS, BGP, OSPF, VPNs (L2/L3)
• VXLAN and spine-leaf architectures
• Experience with CLI-based configuration (IOS, XR, NX-OS, JunOS, SR-OS)
• Solid understanding of Layer 1 troubleshooting (fiber and copper)
• Ability to work overnight shifts and flexible schedules
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Proven ability to execute detailed engineering designs independently

Preferred Qualifications

• Certifications such as CCNA or CCNP
• Experience with Nokia SR-OS platforms
• Exposure to network virtualization and cloud technologies (VMware, OpenStack, AWS, Azure)
• Knowledge of automation tools and frameworks (Python, Ansible, etc.)
• Experience working in large-scale, complex data network environments
