My client is looking for a Senior Structural Design Engineer to perform structural analysis and design for metal building systems. This role ensures all designs meet applicable codes, specifications, and internal standards while delivering structurally sound, cost‑efficient solutions on schedule. Projects typically range from moderate to high complexity, with opportunities for special assignments based on expertise.

Key Responsibilities

• Design primary and secondary structural framing and connections for building projects

• Stay current and proficient with AISC, AISI, ASCE 7, IBC, MBMA, MBS software, and various building codes

• Maintain strong computer literacy and serve as a “super user” in one or more design tools

• Produce clear, accurate engineering documentation and customer interface notes

• Collaborate with drafting teams on fabrication and erection details

• Communicate effectively with engineering and drafting personnel throughout the project lifecycle

• Review drawings to ensure design intent is accurately incorporated

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, or Construction Engineering (required)

• Master’s degree in a related field (preferred)

Qualifications

• Degree from an ABET‑accredited program, suitable for professional licensure

• Professional Engineer (PE) license in multiple states; Structural Engineer (SE) license preferred

• 8–12 years of metal building design experience
