| Job : Counsel Location: Remote About the Role We are seeking a California‑licensed Workers Compensation Attorney to join our team as Staff Counsel. In this role, you will represent the company and its policyholders in workers compensation claims of moderate value and complexity. You will manage litigation strategy, hearings, and negotiations while providing clear, actionable legal guidance to claims representatives and insured clients. Key Responsibilities · Develop and execute litigation strategies aligned with company protocols. · Handle discovery, hearings, trials, depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and related proceedings. · Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and legal opinions; conduct settlement negotiations when required. · Provide clear legal advice to claims representatives and insured clients, maintaining strong communication and relationships. · Stay current on workers compensation law and related medical, scientific, and technical issues. · Leverage technology to improve legal processes, quality, and efficiency. · Lead assigned teams or groups within the office and collaborate with the Home Office Legal department. Qualifications · JD or LLB degree with admission to the California Bar. · Minimum 1 year of successful experience practicing law. · Strong knowledge of insurance law and workers compensation regulations. · Proven litigation skills including research, drafting, and courtroom advocacy. · Excellent written and verbal communication skills with persuasive ability. · Ability to manage moderately complex cases independently and effectively. |
