Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced SharePoint Intranet Consultant to support the redesign and modernization of our internal business website. This role focuses on improving how employees access information, navigate content, and engage with internal resources using SharePoint Online. The consultant will work closely with Internal Communications, IT, and business stakeholders to deliver a modern, user-centric intranet experience aligned with usability and accessibility best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Redesign and modernize a collection of existing SharePoint Online intranet sites
- Evaluate the current internal SharePoint environment and identify opportunities for improvement
- Recommend and implement improved information architecture, navigation, and page layouts
- Configure SharePoint pages, web parts, templates, and branding using modern SharePoint capabilities
- Support content cleanup, organization, and migration to ensure consistency and accuracy
- Partner with internal stakeholders to translate business and communication needs into effective site designs
- Ensure intranet solutions follow usability, accessibility, and scalability best practices
- Manage deliverables independently while collaborating with multiple teams in a contractor capacity
Required Qualifications
- Proven expertise with SharePoint Online and modern intranet design
- Strong background in intranet, internal website, or employee portal UX design
- Experience with information architecture, content strategy, and navigation design
- Ability to work independently and manage deliverables in a contractor or consulting role
- Strong communication skills and experience working with multiple stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with the broader Microsoft 365 ecosystem
- Strong understanding of usability principles and employee experience (EX) design
- Experience supporting Internal Communications teams or corporate intranets
- Comfort operating with limited direction in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
