Job Title: Cloud FinOps Consultant (Azure Focused)

Job Summary:
Our Client seeking a Cloud FinOps Consultant to support the development and operation of an enterprise FinOps capability with a strong emphasis on Microsoft Azure. This role will focus on cloud financial governance, cost optimization, and automation during and following a large on‑premises‑to‑cloud migration.

The ideal candidate brings a hybrid skill set combining cloud engineering, financial operations, and executive‑level reporting. This is not a pure analytics or reporting role; the consultant will help design and operationalize cloud financial management processes and supporting data pipelines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Establish and support FinOps processes for cost visibility, optimization, governance, and accountability across cloud environments.
• Analyze Azure usage and spend, including optimization related to Azure Hybrid Benefit, reservations, and savings plans.
• Serve as the primary FinOps resource for Azure, with future expansion to AWS and limited GCP environments.
• Define and enforce standards for tagging, naming conventions, cost allocation, and resource attribution.
• Support the development of an in‑house FinOps platform using Azure cost and billing APIs.
• Design or support ETL pipelines, data models, and transformations for reliable cloud cost reporting.
• Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards showing cost trends, forecasts, budgets, and optimization outcomes.
• Contribute to future‑state analytics and reporting using Microsoft Fabric.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, invoicing, and showback or chargeback models.
• Deliver clear, executive‑ready reporting to finance, technology, and leadership stakeholders.
• Act as a trusted advisor to engineering and platform teams to embed cost awareness into cloud architecture and operational decisions.
• Document FinOps standards, processes, and optimization practices.

Required Qualifications:

• Experience in Cloud FinOps or cloud financial management roles with strong Azure expertise.
• Hands‑on experience with Azure cost management, billing, and usage data.
• Working experience with cloud cost APIs and data ingestion processes.
• Knowledge of data engineering concepts, including ETL pipelines and data modeling (Python preferred).
• Strong experience developing dashboards and reports using Power BI.
• Background in financial operations, including forecasting, budgeting, and cost allocation.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to present financial insights to technical and non‑technical audiences.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience supporting large Azure migrations or enterprise Azure environments.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric or modern cloud data platforms.
• Exposure to AWS and/or GCP cost management.
• FinOps certification or equivalent practical experience.
