Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced, certified Phlebotomist to join our team at our Irving, TX facility. The ideal candidate will be skilled in venipuncture and specimen collection, committed to patient safety, and able to follow laboratory protocols with precision and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform blood collection using venipuncture and capillary puncture techniques
- Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient work environment
- Process, prepare, and package specimens for laboratory testing and transport
- Troubleshoot specimen collection issues as they arise
- Provide patients with clear instructions for specimen collection (e.g., urine collection)
- Instruct patients on proper post-phlebotomy care
- Obtain specimens for microbiology testing
- Properly handle and dispose of sharps and other hazardous materials
- Ensure positive patient identification and accurate specimen labeling
- Follow all standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Perform waived and moderate-complexity laboratory testing as required
Qualifications
- Minimum of two (2) years of phlebotomy experience
- Current Phlebotomy Certification required
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient care
- Ability to work independently and as part of a healthcare team
- Excellent communication and patient interaction skills
