Job Description

System Administrator – HR (Contract)

Location: Remote role - local to Los Angeles, CA

Schedule: Monday to Friday | 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Contract Duration: 3–6 months (extension possible based on performance)


About the Role

We are looking for a System Administrator – HR to support and optimize enterprise HR systems and solutions. In this role, you will partner closely with HR, IT, and campus HRIT teams to ensure HR technology platforms operate efficiently, securely, and at scale. You will play a key role in improving HR workflows, supporting system users, and enabling data‑driven decision‑making across the organization.


Responsibilities

  • Assist in the administration, maintenance, and optimization of Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) and related platforms.
  • Support enterprise HR systems, including HRIS, Learning Management Systems (LMS), Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), Time & Attendance, and Document Management systems.
  • Monitor daily HR system operations to ensure all processes function accurately, reliably, and on time.
  • Collaborate with HR Systems, IT, and Campus HRIT teams to implement system enhancements, resolve issues, and improve operational efficiency.
  • Recommend strategies for implementing new systems and improving existing HR workflows, processes, and integrations.
  • Design, develop, and deliver reporting solutions, including ad hoc reports, scheduled reports, dashboards, and system interfaces.
  • Partner with end users and subject‑matter experts to validate data integrity and promote best practices across HR systems, particularly within the LMS.
  • Manage and support HR system projects, including upgrades, integrations, implementations, and testing initiatives.
  • Assist with data analysis by running reports and creating and maintaining spreadsheets to track departmental metrics and performance indicators.
  • Develop presentations, documentation, and training materials; support HR system training and end‑user enablement activities as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related field, or
    • Five (5) years of experience in Human Resources, HRIS, or a related field may substitute for a bachelor’s degree.
  • Experience:

    • Minimum of two (2) years of HR systems support and reporting experience.
    • Experience with project management or HR system implementation initiatives.
  • Skills:

    • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and HRMS/LMS platforms.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all organizational levels.
    • Strong critical thinking, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with one or more of the following systems: Workday, HealthStream, Cornerstone, Kronos, or Document Management systems.
  • Experience supporting HR systems in a hospital or healthcare environment.
  • Professional HR certification (e.g., SHRM‑CP, PHR, or equivalent).
