Medical Assistant – Contract

Location: Frisco, TX Job Type: Full-time, Monday–Friday (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM) Pay Rate: $20/hr

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and professional Medical Assistant (MA) to join our clinical team. In this role, you will provide essential support to physicians and clinical staff while ensuring a smooth, efficient, and patient‑centered care environment. You will perform clinical and administrative duties within the Medical Assistant scope of practice and uphold the highest standards of safety, confidentiality, and infection control.

Top Responsibilities & Daily Tasks

Your daily responsibilities will include a combination of patient care, clinical procedures, documentation, and clinic organization. Key tasks include:

Clinical Patient Intake (Rooming)

  • Escort patients to exam rooms following clinic protocols.
  • Prepare patients for examinations by collecting intake information and recording vital signs.
  • Conduct telephone and in‑person screening limited to gathering information for provider review.

Procedural Support

  • Perform patient‑oriented procedures within the MA scope of practice.
  • Administer non‑intravenous medications as delegated by the provider.
  • Operate diagnostic equipment and perform EKGs (without interpreting results).
  • Collect specimens using noninvasive techniques and perform venipuncture/capillary blood draws.
  • Assist with wound care, including dressing changes and obtaining cultures.

Clinic Maintenance & Quality Control

  • Organize, stock, and sanitize exam and treatment rooms throughout the day.
  • Sterilize medical instruments using an autoclave.
  • Perform routine quality‑control checks on clinical equipment.
  • Follow all infection control standards and adhere to Standard Delegation of Orders (SDO).

Documentation & Coordination

  • Document all patient care activities accurately and in real time within the medical record.
  • Coordinate patient care as directed by providers and in alignment with company policies.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and deliver exceptional customer service at all times.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Nationally recognized Medical Assistant certification
  • Current BLS certification (AHA or Military Training Network)
  • Basic computer literacy; intermediate Excel skills preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Ability to remain calm and effective in emergency situations.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Bilingual in Spanish (required).
  • Minimum 2-3 years of Medical Assistant Experience
