Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Audio Visual & Collaboration Engineer to join our global Infrastructure Engineering organization. This role is a core engineering position focused on technology evaluation, standards development, and large-scale AV and collaboration deployments across enterprise workplace environments.
This is not a traditional support role. The successful candidate will act as an in-region technical authority, contributing directly to global design standards while leading regional implementations that align with enterprise security, networking, and aesthetic requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Technology Evaluation & Innovation
- Partner with global engineering teams to evaluate emerging AV and collaboration technologies.
- Conduct proof-of-concept testing in regional lab environments to validate performance within enterprise networks.
- Lead regional pilot deployments, collecting user feedback and technical data to influence global standards.
Design & Standards Engineering
- Collaborate on the design of standardized AV solutions (“building blocks”) for a variety of space types, including huddle rooms, conference rooms, and executive boardrooms.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including signal flow diagrams, wiring schematics, and configuration guides.
- Ensure all regional deployments align with global security, networking, and workspace design standards.
Deployment & Implementation Leadership
- Lead execution and delivery of AV and collaboration room deployments, ranging from single-room installations to large-scale rollouts of 400+ rooms.
- Manage scope, equipment selection, coordination, and installation in partnership with business stakeholders.
- Work closely with AV integrators and vendors to ensure engineering specifications and quality standards are met.
Escalation & Technical Leadership
- Serve as a Tier 3 escalation point for complex or systemic AV and collaboration issues.
- Provide engineering-level guidance for remediation, stabilization, and optimization of existing implementations.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in Technology Infrastructure Engineering, AV Engineering, or Collaboration Solutions (or equivalent experience through consulting, training, military service, or education).
- Expert-level knowledge of:
- Video conferencing platforms and AV-over-IP standards
- Audio DSP systems and professional control systems
- Hands-on experience with:
- Microsoft Teams Rooms and/or Zoom Rooms (including backend management and advanced configuration)
- Cisco Control Hub and Cisco Call Manager
- Professional-grade DSPs, PTZ cameras, beamforming microphones, and large-format displays or LED walls
- Proven ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, wiring diagrams, and signal flow diagrams.
- Strong implementation experience delivering real-world AV deployments (integrator experience strongly preferred).
- Ability to work independently as part of a globally distributed engineering team across multiple time zones.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting both engineering design and hands-on deployment.
- Background working with enterprise-scale workplace or conference room technology environments.
- Networking knowledge (considered a plus, but not a substitute for AV expertise).
Additional Information
- Candidates must have demonstrated AV expertise; this role is not suitable for general network engineers without professional AV experience.
- The role blends hands-on implementation with engineering oversight and technical leadership.
- Strong execution skills and real-world deployment experience are critical to success.
