Senior Business Analyst – Oracle HCM / Payroll

Overview

The Senior Business Analyst will serve as a critical bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring Oracle HCM solutions—particularly Payroll—are designed, implemented, and supported in alignment with business objectives. This role has been recalibrated to target a senior‑level, hands‑on Oracle HCM professional with deep Payroll expertise, strong system configuration experience, and proven post‑go‑live (hypercare) support capabilities.

This is not a traditional documentation‑focused BA role. The ideal candidate is a technical‑functional SME who can contribute immediately with minimal ramp‑up in a fast‑paced, enterprise environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as a liaison between business users and technical teams to analyze, design, and deliver Oracle HCM solutions with a strong focus on Payroll.
• Gather, analyze, and document functional and data requirements, ensuring alignment across business and IT stakeholders.
• Lead requirements walkthroughs with business units and technical teams to drive shared understanding, validation, and formal sign‑off.
• Configure, troubleshoot, and support Oracle Payroll and Core HR modules across implementation and post‑go‑live environments.
• Identify opportunities to improve business processes through system enhancements and automation.
• Support implementation, hypercare, and ongoing enhancement activities, including issue analysis and resolution across the SDLC.
• Collaborate closely with Scrum Masters, Product Owners, Project Managers, and cross‑functional platform teams.
• Utilize OTBI reporting, HDL/HSDL data loads, and system tools to support data accuracy, reporting, and integrations.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to peers where applicable.
• Work effectively within a global, virtual team, collaborating with stakeholders across multiple time zones (including U.S. and India).

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in a senior business analyst, technical‑functional, or Oracle HCM consulting role.
• Proven hands‑on experience with Oracle HCM implementations, with Oracle Payroll expertise required.
• Strong experience supporting post‑go‑live (hypercare) environments, including troubleshooting and enhancements.
• Solid knowledge of:
  • Oracle Payroll
  • Core HR
  • OTBI reporting
  • HDL / HSDL data loads
• Strong technical aptitude, with the ability to understand system behavior, integrations, dependencies, and data flows.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to lead and facilitate requirements discussions confidently.
• Self‑motivated, assertive, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Comfortable working in complex, fast‑paced, and evolving environments.
• Consulting or managed services experience is strongly preferred.

• Work Hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM CST
• Work Location: Hybrid; open to remote candidates with strong, hands‑on Oracle HCM reporting and system experience
