Job Summary
The Director of Business Development – General Contractors is responsible for driving the national expansion of Billd Predictable Pay (BPP), clients early payment solution for General Contractors. This role owns the full enterprise sales execution for General Contractors, building strategic partnerships that modernize payment practices while strengthening GC–subcontractor relationships.
Reporting to the General Manager of Predictable Pay, this is a senior, high-impact role focused on selling complex financial and technology solutions to executive leadership at large commercial General Contractors.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Sales to General Contractors
- Own the full enterprise sales cycle from prospecting through close for commercial General Contractors with $1B–$10B in annual revenue
- Lead consultative, executive-level sales discussions with CFOs, Controllers, Procurement leaders, and senior leadership teams
- Clearly articulate the financial, operational, and risk-reduction value of Billd Predictable Pay for both General Contractors and subcontractors
- Coordinate cross-functional stakeholders including leadership, legal, funding, product, marketing, and customer success teams to close deals
- Partner with marketing and channel teams to generate pipeline and identify new sales opportunities
Account Management and Growth
- Ensure seamless onboarding and transition to post-sales teams for successful program deployment
- Build and maintain long-term executive relationships across General Contractor organizations
- Develop account growth strategies to expand adoption of Billd Predictable Pay after launch
- Conduct regular business reviews to measure success, gather feedback, and identify expansion opportunities
- Maintain high customer satisfaction and develop referenceable General Contractor accounts
Required Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree required
Experience
- 15+ years of B2B sales experience
- Experience selling enterprise solutions to commercial General Contractors with $1B–$10B in revenue
- Proven success selling complex financial, fintech, supply chain finance, working capital, or enterprise technology solutions
- Experience engaging executive-level decision makers, including CFOs and finance leadership
- Strong understanding of working capital, cash flow, and supply chain finance concepts

- Exceptional communication, presentation, and executive presence
- Strong business and financial acumen with the ability to connect product capabilities to measurable outcomes
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple enterprise sales cycles simultaneously
- Proficiency with Salesforce, Google Workspace, Slack, and related productivity tools
- Ability to navigate complex, multi-stakeholder sales environments
