Epic Ambulatory Analyst
Job Summary
The Epic Ambulatory Analyst is responsible for the design, build, configuration, testing, implementation, and ongoing support of the Epic Ambulatory module. This role partners with clinical, operational, and IT stakeholders to optimize workflows, ensure system stability, and support high-quality patient care delivery in ambulatory settings.
Required Certification
- Epic Ambulatory Certification (Required)
Key Responsibilities
- Configure, build, and maintain Epic Ambulatory application components based on clinical and business requirements
- Analyze ambulatory workflows and translate needs into effective Epic solutions
- Perform system upgrades, enhancements, and maintenance activities
- Troubleshoot system issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement fixes
- Collaborate with clinicians, providers, and operational leaders to optimize system use
- Develop and execute test scripts for new builds and patches
- Support go-lives, optimization initiatives, and end-user training as needed
- Create and maintain system documentation, build records, and workflow diagrams
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies, Epic standards, and regulatory requirements
Required Qualifications
- Epic Ambulatory Certification
- Experience supporting or implementing Epic Ambulatory in a healthcare environment
- Strong understanding of ambulatory clinical workflows
- Ability to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Epic go-lives or major upgrades
- Knowledge of integrated Epic modules (e.g., Cadence, MyChart, Orders)
- Prior experience working directly with providers or clinical staff
- Healthcare IT or clinical background
Work Environment
- Collaborative, fast-paced healthcare IT environment
- May require limited on-call, after-hours, or go-live support
