Senior Data Governance Analyst

About the Role

As a Senior Data Governance Analyst, you will help establish and drive adherence to an enterprise data governance framework and analytics strategy. You’ll collaborate closely with business owners, analysts, technology teams, and other key stakeholders to ensure consistent data definitions, high‑quality data assets, and strong governance practices across the organization.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex data challenges, influencing cross‑functional partners, and improving how data is defined, managed, and used.


What You’ll Do

Data Governance & Standards

  • Align stakeholders on enterprise data models, definitions, and governance standards.
  • Partner with data stewards to maintain and update data dictionaries.
  • Recommend KPIs and develop reporting to monitor adoption of data management standards.

Data Asset Development

  • Collaborate with analysts and engineering teams to gather business requirements and support UAT.
  • Drive the development and enhancement of new data assets and governed datasets.
  • Build deep knowledge of organizational data, data flows, and business processes.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Actively solicit feedback from business partners and iterate on solutions to improve usability and adoption.
  • Support change management efforts to ensure consistent application of governance practices.

What You’ll Bring

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in data quality management, information architecture, or data governance design and implementation.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and operationalizing data‑based policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Proven ability to build cross‑functional relationships and influence organizational change.
  • Experience using data catalogs and data quality technologies.
  • Hands‑on experience with operational management and change management.
  • Track record of supporting or operating data governance programs in large, complex environments.
  • Experience with Power BI and Power Query; familiarity with DAX is a plus.
  • Fundamental SQL skills; experience with SQL Studio is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in MIS, IT, Computer Science, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).
  • Data governance or industry certifications (e.g., CDMP, DGSP) are preferred but not required.
