• Hands-on Zeke scheduling experience — this is mandatory
• Strong multitasking ability — role involves balancing multiple initiatives at the same time
• Strong communication and presentation skills — candidate must be comfortable speaking and presenting in front of application teams
• Ability to present and explain merger-related requirements specific to Production Scheduling to technical and non-technical audiences
• Required: 24×7 on call support for production issues

Primary Responsibilities

• Ownership of daily enterprise mainframe batch execution using ZEKE/ZEBB
• Process and validate scheduling requests in ChangeMan and ServiceNow
• Expert support for abends, reruns, restarts, and dependency issues
• Monitor all mainframe batch schedules for risks and inefficiencies
• Provide rapid on call recovery support when needed
• Co-Lead planning sessions with application teams for CD1 readiness
• Document and track all INT, Mock1, and Mock2 activities
• Recommend improvements to CD1 execution, communication, and technical readiness
• Develop/maintain runbooks and actionable pre conversion checklists
• Establish timelines for scheduling/JCL work submission to allow pre staging
• Advocate for Production Support by ensuring early visibility and preparation time

Role Responsibilities

• Ensure reliable, accurate, and efficient batch execution across the enterprise by managing and supporting all production scheduling activity for mainframe applications.

Core Responsibilities

• Mainframe Production Scheduling & Support
• Own and manage enterprise-wide mainframe batch scheduling using ZEKE/ZEBB for all mainframe applications.
• Process and review all scheduling requests via ChangeMan and ServiceNow, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and adherence to production standards.
• Provide expert-level production support for job abends, scheduling failures, reruns, restarts, and dependency issues.
• Actively monitor production schedules to identify risks, inefficiencies, or conflicts and recommend/implement improvements.
• Partner with application teams to resolve complex scheduling and batch processing issues before they impact production.
• CD1 Conversion Planning & Continuous Improvement
• CD1 Readiness, Coordination, and Execution
• Participate in planning sessions with application teams to ensure batch readiness for CD1 conversions.
• Document and track all Integration (INT), Mock1, and Mock2 activities, including timing, issues, lessons learned, and required follow-up actions.
• Analyze overall CD1 processing trends and identify bottlenecks, failure points, or tasks that can be executed earlier or automated.
• Conversion Weekend Improvement Initiatives
• Propose strategies to better prepare for CD1 conversion weekend, including enhancements to:
• Pre-staging of jobs and data
• Batch flow readiness
• Issue tracking
• Batch dependency accuracy
• Improve communication and coordination models across application teams, Production Support, and Computer Operation Team.
• Establish clear and repeatable submission timelines for work, ensuring Production Support receives deliverables early enough to:
• Pre-stage scheduling changes
• Validate JCL
• Scan/approve content well ahead of conversion weekend
• Develop and maintain runbooks, process documentation, and readiness checklists to create consistent, predictable CD1 execution cycles.

Process Ownership

• Recommend enhancements to batch architecture, job design, dependency mapping, and scheduling workflows that reduce conversion risk and execution time.
