About the Role
We are seeking an experienced AI Engineer (6–9 years) to design, develop, and deploy advanced AI/LLM solutions within enterprise environments. The ideal candidate brings strong hands-on experience with manufacturing systems, OT/IT integration, and AI/ML engineering, with the ability to translate complex model outputs into actionable insights for technical and executive stakeholders.
This is a remote role with 30–40% travel across the United States to support on-site discovery, data integration, and deployment activities.
Key Responsibilities
AI & LLM Engineering
- Build, fine-tune, and deploy LLM-based solutions using Hugging Face, LangChain, and OpenAI APIs.
- Architect and implement RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) pipelines for enterprise use cases.
- Integrate generative AI models into cloud environments and existing enterprise systems.
Manufacturing & OT/IT Integration
- Work directly with shop floor teams to understand production workflows and data sources.
- Integrate with manufacturing systems including MES, SCADA, ERP, and industrial protocols such as OPC-UA, MQTT, Modbus.
- Enable real-time data extraction and harmonization across OT/IT systems.
Operational Excellence & Analytics
- Apply methodologies such as OEE, Six Sigma, SPC, and Lean to identify and drive improvements in yield, uptime, and operational efficiency.
- Build predictive and prescriptive analytics models using Python, R, and SQL.
Stakeholder Communication
- Translate complex AI outputs into clear, actionable recommendations for operations, engineering, and executive leadership.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with manufacturing, data engineering, and cloud teams.
Required Qualifications
- 6–9 years of experience as an AI Engineer or similar role.
- Strong hands-on experience with LLMs, RAG pipelines, Hugging Face, LangChain, and OpenAI APIs.
- Experience working with MES, SCADA, ERP, and shop floor/production systems.
- Proficiency in Python, R, SQL.
- Experience with industrial communication protocols (OPC-UA, MQTT, Modbus).
- Ability to work in remote environments with 30–40% travel across the U.S.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to simplify complex technical concepts.
Preferred (Optional) Qualifications
- 2–4 years of experience in the manufacturing domain.
- Experience applying OEE, Six Sigma, SPC, Lean methodologies.
- Background in production planning or shop floor operations.
- Experience deploying AI/ML solutions in enterprise cloud environments.
