Role Overview:
We are seeking a Security Compliance Engineer to support a Compliance and TLS Hardening initiative focused on improving security posture across enterprise web servers and databases. The primary goal of this role is to help achieve and sustain 95% or higher compliance with global security hardening standards. This position will work closely with application teams, system administrators, and global security governance teams to analyze, remediate, and validate hardening controls.
This job will have the following responsibilities:- Analyze the potential impact of web server and database hardening rules on applications and services.
- Identify, triage, and validate false positive and false negative findings in compliance scan results.
- Review and track the technical implementation of security hardening controls.
- Partner with global Vulnerability, Security Standards (VSS) and Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) teams to recommend updates to global hardening guides when needed.
- Execute compliance scans using Qualys Policy Compliance following remediation activities.
- Assess compliance against CIS Benchmarks and organizational hardening standards.
- Provide technical guidance to application owners, system administrators, and CIO stakeholders on configuration changes needed to resolve compatibility or compliance issues
- Generate and report hardening compliance metrics to support audits and executive reporting.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in security compliance, hardening, or system security assessments
- Hands‑on experience performing hardening compliance evaluations
- Strong experience with Qualys Policy Compliance (PC) module
- Experience assessing systems against CIS Benchmarks
- Knowledge of security configuration management for operating systems, middleware, network devices, and firewalls/IPS
- Ability to perform gap assessments against hardening policies and standards
- Experience generating compliance metrics for audit and tracking purposes
- Ability to guide system administrators on secure configuration adjustments
- Experience configuring Qualys PC for compliance and hardening assessments
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience as a System Administrator
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English
