Data Literacy Instructional Specialist Location: Remote (U.S.)
Job Type: Contract / Temporary (through at least end of 2026)
About the Role
We are seeking a Data Instructional Specialist III to lead the strategy, design, and delivery of enterprise-wide data literacy and analytics education programs for healthcare professionals. This role sits at the intersection of data, education, instructional design, and product management, with a strong emphasis on Epic Cogito.
The ideal candidate is passionate about helping non-technical audiences understand and confidently use data, can translate complex analytics concepts into engaging learning experiences, and thrives in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the strategy, lifecycle, and delivery of a core pillar within a Data Literacy program
- Design and deliver engaging data and analytics training, workshops, and learning experiences for diverse healthcare audiences
- Develop scalable, sustainable learning products including courses, curricula, and learning modules
- Partner with data subject matter experts to create, validate, and maintain analytics training content
- Conduct learner research, pilot programs, and continuous improvement based on feedback and outcomes
- Lead and mentor junior instructional designers and training professionals
- Present and facilitate virtual and in-person training sessions for staff, clinicians, and leadership
- Produce program metrics, impact reporting, and executive‑level summaries
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a data‑related, computational, scientific, or analytical field
- 4+ years experience in instructional design, training, curriculum development, or adult education
- 5+ years experience in data and analytics (data analysis, data science, biostatistics, data management, or software development)
- 3+ years experience using instructional and visual design tools (e.g., Articulate, Captivate, Camtasia, Vyond, Adobe Creative Suite)
- Epic Cogito Fundamentals Certification (required)
- Proven ability to explain complex data concepts to learners with varied technical backgrounds
- Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills
- Comfortable working fully remote and managing multiple workstreams independently
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in data science, public health, education, business, or related field
- Cogito Trainer Certification
- Experience in healthcare, clinical analytics, or Epic reporting environments
- Background in product management or program management
- Experience presenting at conferences or leading communities of practice
