Merchant Services Operations Specialist

About the Role
We are seeking a detail‑oriented Merchant Services Operations Specialist to support account setup, onboarding, and ongoing maintenance for merchant accounts. This role is data‑entry focused and requires strong critical thinking, prioritization, and communication skills. You will support operational processes that directly impact a merchant’s ability to accept credit card payments.
Key Responsibilities
In this contingent assignment, you will:
Operational Support
- Perform account setup and maintenance on merchant accounts, including:
- Updating ABA/DDA information
- Adding new locations
- Creating and updating entitlements
- Executing general maintenance updates
- Complete second‑level reviews for tasks performed within the team.
- Manage a queue of work items from assignment through completion with consistent accuracy and urgency.
Business Execution
- Support business execution initiatives and proactively identify process improvement opportunities.
- Perform moderately complex administrative and operational tasks.
- Receive direction from a supervisor and escalate non‑routine issues appropriately.
- Interact with internal client personnel to exchange required information.
Impact of the Role:
This team is critical to enabling merchants to accept credit card transactions. Incomplete or delayed setup may prevent merchants from processing payments and impact fee revenue.

(e.g., location setup, account keying, entitlement creation)

Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of administrative or business support experience, or equivalent combination of:
- Work experience
- Consulting experience
- Training
- Military service
- Education

- Knowledge of back‑office operations within the financial industry
- Understanding of credit products and requirements supporting payment transactions
- Ability to manage multiple high‑priority, high‑complexity, and high‑risk tasks simultaneously
- Experience managing a pipeline or queue from assignment to completion
- Knowledge of banking operations, accounting standards, procedures, and policies
- Understanding of financial industry client account/relationship management
