Role Overview

This Project Manager is responsible for planning, executing, and governing the Information Classification Strategy to ensure data is consistently classified, protected, and operationalized across applications, platforms, and user workflows—while remaining aligned with regulatory, risk, and cybersecurity standards.

Key Responsibilities (What the PM Owns)

Program & Project Execution

• Manage the Information Classification Strategy roadmap under Project Beacon [New Progra...n Strategy | Event]
• Translate strategy into actionable initiatives, milestones, and deliverables
• Track dependencies across related efforts (PCI, Data Retention, Privacy, Copilot)

Governance & Compliance

• Ensure alignment with ITRC 2510 Information Confidentiality Classification Standard [ITRC-2510...n Standard | PDF]
• Manage VMO artifacts (Demand, ATS, Scope, CRI, Status Reporting)
• Support audit, risk, and regulatory evidence collection

Cross Functional Coordination

• Partner with:

Cybersecurity (Data Protection, Insider Threat)

Chief Data & Architecture Office

Application & Infrastructure teams

Legal, Risk, Compliance, Privacy

• Drive decisions and escalate risks through established governance

Tooling & Enablement (Execution, not Engineering)

• Coordinate rollout of classification and labeling capabilities (e.g., M365/Purview)
• Track implementation, progress and adoption metrics
• Partner with engineering teams without owning technical design

Change Management & Communications
