Job Title: Technical Writer III
Location: Remote
Duration: 06+ Months
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Technical Writer III to support documentation for medical device products. The role will primarily focus on updating and maintaining Instructions for Use (IFU) documentation and collaborating with engineering and product teams to ensure clear, accurate, and compliant documentation.
Key Responsibilities
Create, edit, and maintain technical documentation including Instructions for Use (IFUs).
Gather information from engineers, product managers, and technical teams.
Translate complex technical information into clear documentation for technical and non-technical audiences.
Manage documentation workflows including drafts, reviews, and final publication.
Produce supporting visuals such as screenshots or illustrations when needed.
Ensure documentation meets corporate standards and regulatory requirements.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree with 6+ years of technical writing experience (or Master’s with 4+ years).
Strong writing, editing, and communication skills.
Experience with Content Management Systems (CMS).
Experience writing documentation for global audiences in U.S. English.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with DITA-based documentation systems.
Medical device or regulated industry documentation experience.
Familiarity with FrameMaker, XML editors, or legacy CMS tools.
Tools
DITA CMS, Microsoft Word/Office, Outlook, Teams, Adobe FrameMaker, Adobe Acrobat, and Adobe image editing tools.
