This job will have the following responsibilities:

Develop and formulate AAFCO- and state-compliant recipes that are nutritious, safe, and appealing to pets.
Uphold and enhance our long-standing commitment to producing safe, healthy, and delicious pet food.
Serve in a strategic leadership capacity reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer.
Ensure all recipes meet internal quality standards and product specifications.
Stay current with scientific and technical advancements in companion animal nutrition.\
Evaluate emerging ingredients, nutritional technologies, and scientific advancements to inform product development and long-term innovation.
Maintain accurate documentation to support product label compliance, feeding guidelines, nutritional adequacy statements, and marketing claims.
Participate in feeding trials and related research, ensuring data collection, analysis and application of findings to improved program outcomes.
Collaborate with Purchasing and Quality Assurance teams to ensure ingredient quality and nutritional integrity.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Master of Science in Animal Nutrition (Companion Animal Nutrition strongly preferred) | Ph.D. preferred
- Deep understanding of canine & feline nutrition and related scientific disciplines.
- Ability to operate with a high level of autonomy, including authority to develop, recommend and execute strategic initiatives.
- Proven experience in developing pet food formulations.
- Familiarity with dry food manufacturing processes and operations.
