Director of Sales (Data Centers) - Remote + Travel (40%+)

Compensation: $275,000 total compensation.

Base Salary: $185,000 - $200,000 + Sales Incentive Plan $65k-$100k+.

Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD, LTD, 3 weeks of paid vacation + 11 holidays (9 scheduled & 2 floating) + 8 sick days. All vacation days are accrued. 401(k): 6% total: 3% company contribution and additional 3% company match. Benefits begin first day of the month following hire. Tuition Reimbursement.

Notes: 6 Direct Reports, 4 Business Development Managers & 2 Applications Engineers. Reports to VP of Sales. $3.5 Billion company, 3k+ employees, Industrial Products for Data Centers (Server OEM’s, Cooling OEM’s, Hyperscalers, Integrators, MEP Consultants, Engineering Firms and Contractors), Global Network of Manufacturing and Distribution centers.

Job Description:

  • This position will be responsible for owning, defining, and executing the growth strategy in the data center market segment for the Americas across all company product lines including liquid cooling and air cooling solutions.
  • Create and execute the business plan, in line with the Americas Strategic Plan and budget targets.
  • Monitor key competitors' performance; compare our own performance and draw conclusions on areas of growth opportunities and/or identify competitive threats to the business.
  • Drive marketing efforts and market awareness of Power Transmission and Fluid Power portfolios for different Data Center customers and Cooling Solution OEM, and Integrators.
  • Direct efforts to identify and map key players in the decision-making chain (Engineering Firms / Consultants / Owner & operators of data center and crypto sites / Developers & Integrators).
  • Technology trends/technology shifts - understand how the industry requirements are changing and translate how it affects the utilization of products (immersion cooling, direct to chip cooling).
  • Assessing sales and marketing as well as supplier and vendor operations and recommending improvements as needed.
  • Build solid relationships with customers, vendors, and distributors, as well as the sales and marketing teams.
  • Lead business development and client relationship management teams.
  • Understand industry dynamics, decision-making process and decision makers on product specification and buying decisions.
  • Coordinate collaboratively with Regional and Global Sales and Product Line Management leaders on new opportunities and needs of our customers.
  • Develop and strengthen internal and external relationships that lead to increased lead generation and market share.
  • Foster and maintain an entrepreneurial growth culture throughout the company and across all teams and work functions.
  • Coordinating required efforts to respond to requests for proposals (RFPs).
  • Develop and manage strategic partnerships to grow business.
  • Present business or marketing opportunities to company executives and management.

Qualifications Seeking:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing or Engineering. Master’s Degree a plus.
  • Minimum 15 years' experience of progressive experience in sales or marketing.
  • Demonstrated experience leading a sales team and growing sales in the Datacenter industry.
  • Existing network at leading companies in the Datacenter industry including Server OEM’s, Cooling OEM’s, Hyperscalers, Integrators, MEP Consultants, Engineering Firms and Contractors.
  • Significant knowledge of the industrial supply chain and leading companies supporting the infrastructure growth of Datacenters.
  • An expert in the Data Center segment, including a deep understanding of the segment's technical process needs and challenges.
  • An understanding of cooling technologies and trends in the liquid and air cooling market.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills. Proactive behavior. Results oriented.
  • Excellent communicator, both oral and written. Must possess the ability to design and conduct presentations.
  • Technical knowledge is considered an asset along with the ability to communicate technical information to a non-technical audience in a clear and concise manner.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills along with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong relationship building and relationship management skills across functions and organizational levels.
  • Excellent active listening and communication skills.
  • Well-developed leadership skills and proven ability to work successfully within a matrix environment.
