Job Description:
We are seeking a Cloud Platform / Kubernetes Operations Engineer with strong experience across public cloud, private cloud, and Kubernetes-based platforms. This role focuses on platform engineering, Kubernetes operations, infrastructure automation, and cloud modernization. You will support organizations running Kubernetes-only environments as well as Kubernetes-native virtual machine workloads.
The ideal candidate has a background in DevOps or platform engineering with hands-on experience in Kubernetes operations, Infrastructure-as-Code, and cloud‑native tooling, and is comfortable working across AWS, GCP, Azure, VMware, and managed Kubernetes services. Experience with specialized Kubernetes management platforms or Kubernetes-based virtualization tools is not required—training will be provided.
Requirements
- Strong hands-on experience in DevOps or Platform Engineering roles.
- Experience operating infrastructure in one or more major cloud providers: AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Experience with VMware vSphere / ESXi or other private cloud/on-premises environments.
- Solid understanding of Kubernetes, including cluster operations, networking, storage, and security fundamentals.
- Practical experience with CI/CD systems (e.g., GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, Argo CD, Flux).
- Strong experience working with GitOps principles and workflows.
- Proficiency with Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform, Helm, and Ansible.
- Familiarity with cloud networking, identity, security, and observability concepts.
- Strong Linux skills; experience with Windows workloads is a plus.
- Ability to quickly learn new platforms and support customers through cloud and platform modernization initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and operate cloud-native, hybrid, and multi-cloud platforms across AWS, GCP, Azure, VMware, and other infrastructure environments using enterprise-grade Kubernetes management tooling.
- Support customer environments running Kubernetes-only platforms, as well as modernization efforts for virtual machine workloads using Kubernetes-based virtualization technologies.
- Deploy, manage, and perform lifecycle operations for Kubernetes clusters consistently across multiple environments.
- Operate and support containerized workloads and, when required, Kubernetes-hosted virtual machines (Linux and Windows).
- Implement and manage GitOps-based workflows for cluster, platform, and application configuration.
- Support CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure provisioning, platform configuration, and application delivery.
- Automate platform and infrastructure operations using Terraform, Helm, Ansible, and Git-based workflows.
- Collaborate with application, security, and operations teams to ensure platform capabilities align with business and delivery priorities.
- Ensure platform reliability, scalability, security, and cost efficiency across hybrid and multi-cloud environments.
- Troubleshoot complex issues spanning Kubernetes, containers, virtual machines, cloud infrastructure, and platform tooling.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and reference architectures.
Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to any Kubernetes management platform (e.g., Rancher, OpenShift, Anthos, or similar tools).
- Experience with virtualization on Kubernetes or technologies similar to KubeVirt.
- Experience supporting VM-to-Kubernetes modernization or migration initiatives.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes-native VM orchestration concepts and workflows.
- Experience with managed Kubernetes services such as EKS, GKE, or AKS.
- Relevant cloud or Kubernetes certifications (AWS, Azure, GCP, CKA/CKAD).
