Title: Sr Manager, Collaboration Technology Product Owner
Type: Contract to hire
Location: Remote - EST Hours
The Senior Manager, Collaboration Technology Product Owner is responsible for the strategic direction, lifecycle management, and continuous improvement of collaboration platforms, including Microsoft 365, Teams, SharePoint, and emerging tools such as Copilot. This role ensures alignment between collaboration technologies, enterprise strategy, user needs, and operational objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Product Ownership:
- Lead the end-to-end lifecycle of collaboration technology products and services.
- Develop product roadmaps, prioritize backlogs, and manage vendor partnerships.
- Make decisions regarding enhancements, upgrades, and system integrations.
- Assess change management needs and oversee risk mitigation.
- Manage product budgets, including planning and forecasting.
Stakeholder Engagement and Governance:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for collaboration technology services.
- Oversee service intake, consultation processes, and stakeholder alignment across departments.
- Partner with clinical, research, and business teams to identify challenges and opportunities for standardization.
- Develop and maintain an enterprise M365 and Collaboration Tools Governance Policy.
Team Leadership:
- Lead cross‑functional teams, including engineers, analysts, architects, and vendors.
- Mentor sub‑product owners and foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Promote agile methodologies and data-driven decision-making.
Digital Transformation and Innovation:
- Champion digital initiatives that enhance workforce productivity.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and lead pilot programs for new solutions.
- Align collaboration platforms with broader workforce technology strategy.
- Oversee license and entitlement management in partnership with HR to ensure accurate allocation and timely reclamation of unused resources.
Experience and Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Minimum eight years of experience managing and supporting infrastructure solutions with emphasis on stability, reliability, and scalability.
- Minimum five years of experience implementing operational best practices.
- Minimum three years of supervisory or managerial experience overseeing at least five team members in a production environment.
- Minimum two years leading infrastructure projects.
- Two years of product ownership or management of collaboration platforms.
- Preferred: Two years of experience with enterprise IT strategy, user-centered design, and agile delivery.
- Preferred: Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Preferred: Experience leading cross-functional teams and vendor relationships.
- Preferred: Five years managing an enterprise-scale Microsoft 365 deployment.
Skills and Abilities:
- Strong operational knowledge and demonstrated leadership experience.
- Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and data storytelling skills.
- Ability to simplify complex concepts for non-technical audiences.
- Strong goal-setting, execution, and service-delivery skills, including defining and monitoring SLAs and customer service KPIs.
- Ability to support organizational development, training, and succession planning aligned with workforce strategy.
- Experience fostering an agile culture and driving agile adoption.
- Experience managing large operations teams in enterprise environments.
