Responsibilities

The Border Protection Product Team within the Information Security-Network Security Product Suite provides third-level design and support for the border protection technologies including firewall appliances in use On-Premise (Enterprise Data Centers), select Remote Office locations, and in the Public/Hybrid Cloud environments. Further, the Infrastructure Security Analysts and Software Engineers partner to maintain the integrations points between automation and infrastructure. The relationship between physical, virtual, and cloud-based firewall infrastructure with several vendor and proprietary automation and tooling components requires dedicated software engineering skills. This is true of the business unit’s current and expected future state as Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning technology use cases become more prevalent.

  • Create and maintain DBMS (Postgres) and IBM DB2
  • Create and deploy Java Spring applications in AWS, on EC2 servers, using Terraform code and Scalr
  • Use Azure for Entra ID for user management and authentication
  • Work with AWS Cloud, IaaS Servers, and Mainframe
  • Work with applications NSCRA (proprietary), nslookup (proprietary), Hot Spot Enabler (proprietary)

Qualifications

Skills Requried

  • Java / Spring: 2–4 years of experience developing enterprise web applications using Java and Spring Framework (with a heavy emphasis on Spring Tool Suite).
  • Database Technologies: 2–4 years of experience working with PostgreSQL or DB2.
  • Application Server: 2–4 years of experience with Apache Tomcat as a web server/application deployment environment.

Our Benefits

Because work-life balance is a priority at State Farm, compensation is based on our standard 38:45-hour work week!

  • Potential starting salary range: $97,000 - $150,000
    • Starting salary will be based on skills, background, and experience
    • High end of the range limited to applicants with significant relevant experience
  • Potential yearly incentive pay up to 18% of base salary

Work Arrangements:

Hybrid Work Locations: Bloomington, IL-Corporate, Dunwoody, GA-Park Center, Richardson, TX-CityLine or Tempe, AZ-Marina Heights Hub locations.

  • Hybrid Work arrangement: A "Hybrid" position means selected candidates will be assigned to a facility and will spend some time working both in the office and from their home. Work arrangements could change over time based on business need.
