We are seeking an Agile Scrum Master with expertise in mainframe migration and modernization projects to lead cross-functional teams through iterative delivery, process optimization, and risk management.


Responsibilities

  • Lead and facilitate all Scrum ceremonies, including Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Planning, Reviews, and Retrospectives.

  • Coach team members on Agile principles and best practices to foster high-performance, self-organizing teams.

  • Collaborate with the Product Owner to manage backlog and prioritize migration tasks for effective sprint execution.

  • Ensure strong alignment between development, testing, and infrastructure teams throughout the migration process.

  • Identify and resolve impediments impacting team progress; escalate risks and dependencies proactively to stakeholders.

  • Maintain transparent communication with all stakeholders regarding progress, risks, and delivery timelines.

  • Prepare and present sprint metrics, status updates, and reports for leadership and team visibility.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize migration workflows.

  • Encourage and support adoption of automation and DevOps practices, where applicable.


Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM, PSM) or equivalent, with strong understanding of Agile frameworks and scaling practices.

  • Experience with mainframe technologies (COBOL, JCL, DB2), migration strategies, and modernization projects (Cloud, Distributed Systems).

  • Proven ability to manage cross-functional teams in complex environments.

  • Excellent problem-solving, conflict resolution, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Proficiency in Jira, Confluence, or similar Agile collaboration tools.

  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems is a plus.

  • Minimum Bachelors Degree

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in large-scale migration programs.

  • Understanding of regulatory compliance and data security considerations in migration projects.

  • Exposure to hybrid Agile-Waterfall delivery environments.
