Insurance Consulting Practice

Role Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Business Analysis who brings deep expertise in Life & Annuities (L&A) and a strong consulting toolkit to lead complex, multi‑year transformation programs for global insurers. You will serve as the business thought leader, shaping problem statements, designing future‑state business models, guiding solution direction, and ensuring delivery of measurable business outcomes.

This role is ideal for someone who operates comfortably at the intersection of strategy, operations, technology, and change, with the ability to translate ambiguity into structured plans and trusted recommendations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Client Leadership & Executive Engagement

  • Serve as the primary business advisor to senior client stakeholders across Distribution, Operations, Technology, Product, and Transformation.
  • Lead C‑suite and SME workshops to frame problems, define future capabilities, and align on transformation priorities.
  • Connect program execution to tangible business value, ensuring early wins, strong sponsorship, and measurable outcomes.
  • Navigate complex client environments with political acuity, influence, and credibility.

2. Transformation Strategy & Operating Model Design

  • Shape transformation vision, scope, and roadmap across L&A value chains:
    New Business & Underwriting, Policy Admin, Servicing, Billing, Claims, Commissions, Agency/Producer Management.
  • Define future‑state business processes, organizational structures, service models, hand‑offs, customer/agent journeys, and operational KPIs.
  • Identify simplification, automation, straight‑through processing, and digitization opportunities to drive scale, speed, and cost efficiency.
  • Recommend pragmatic changes that balance innovation with feasibility, regulatory reality, and market dynamics.

3. Business Analysis Excellence

  • Lead requirements discovery and definition across policy, operations, and customer‑facing processes.
  • Author clear, structured BRDs, FRDs, user stories, acceptance criteria, and traceability matrices aligned to both business and technology needs.
  • Guide design discussions with architects, underwriters, product owners, and vendor teams to ensure the proposed solutions meet business needs, are scalable, and fit operational realities.
  • Provide thought leadership in estimation, prioritization, scope management, and change control.

4. Solution Advisory & Platforms Experience

  • Conduct fit‑gap assessments across industry‑leading policy administration platforms and L&A ecosystems.
  • Advise clients on platform and ecosystem options, integration approaches, modernization patterns, and implementation risks.
  • Translate business objectives into solution roadmaps that balance technology enablement with operational transformation.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (architecture, product, engineering) to ensure business alignment throughout the lifecycle.

5. Delivery Leadership & Operational Readiness

  • Manage business engagement across SIT, UAT, regression, and production readiness.
  • Drive the creation of test scenarios, data needs, and validation steps in partnership with business users.
  • Oversee business transition deliverables: training, communication, SOPs, process playbooks, cutover support, and hypercare stabilization.
  • Ensure operational teams are equipped for Go‑Live and capable of sustaining the transformation long‑term.

6. Consulting Capability Development

  • Mentor and coach BA teams, enabling growth in problem‑solving, structuring, communication, and client handling.
  • Contribute to reusable consulting assets, frameworks, accelerators, and domain playbooks for the Insurance practice.
  • Support business development through proposal creation, solutioning, client storyboarding, and executive presentations.
  • Represent the firm in thought leadership, internal forums, client workshops, and industry conversations.

Core Domain Expertise

Life & Annuities Product Knowledge

  • Term, Whole, Universal Life, Indexed/Variable UL
  • Fixed, Indexed, and Variable Annuities
  • Income/retirement products (SPIA, DIA)
  • Riders, benefits, policy features, and servicing constructs

Insurance Value Chain Expertise

  • Application intake & underwriting
  • Policy issuance & lifecycle servicing
  • Customer/agent experience flows
  • Claims adjudication & payments
  • Billing, collections & disbursements
  • Distributor/agent management & compensation

Enterprise & Ecosystem Awareness

  • Experience with leading PAS and L&A platforms (e.g., ALIP, OIPA, V3locity, FAST, Majesco, Sapiens, etc.)
  • Understanding of underwriting engines, workflow tools, rules engines, CRM, document generation, and digital engagement platforms
  • Familiarity with data domains, reporting structures, and operational control environments

Required Experience & Skills

  • 15+ years in L&A domain roles, including 10+ years leading analysis and transformation in large programs.
  • Prior experience in a consulting organization .
  • Ability to operate in ambiguous, unstructured problem spaces and build clarity for clients and teams.
  • Exceptional communication skills — executive presence, structured storytelling, and crisp documentation.
  • Strong analytical and conceptual thinking; ability to break down complexity and design practical solutions.
  • Proven experience guiding offshore/onshore delivery teams in distributed environments.
  • Exposure to both Agile and hybrid delivery models.

Preferred Credentials

  • Professional certifications such as CBAP, PMI‑PBA, LOMA/ALMI/FLMI, SAFe/Agile credentials.
  • Experience delivering programs across multiple geographies.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence C‑suite decision‑making and drive strategic outcomes.
