Job Description:
The Senior Communications Relationship Manager serves as the primary strategic communications partner to the North American Managing Principal and COO and the Chief Growth Officer. This role shapes and executes integrated communications strategies that advance growth and operational priorities, sales and marketing effectiveness and business line alignment across a complex, matrixed professional services firm.
The successful candidate will be a trusted advisor capable of translating business strategy into compelling messages and programs that engage principals, practitioners, and other key commercial and client-connected stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategy & Counsel
- Serve as day-to-day communications advisor to supported executives and their leadership teams.
- Develop and execute communications strategies that support revenue growth, marketing effectiveness, sales transformation initiatives and business line alignment.
- Translate strategic priorities into clear narratives for internal and external audiences.
- Anticipate communication risks and opportunities; provide proactive guidance and issues management support.
- Ensure alignment between firmwide brand/enterprise messages and sales, marketing, growth and operational priorities.
Executive & Leadership Communications
- Develop speeches, talking points, presentations, and leadership messaging.
- Shape executive platforms with thought leadership themes and visibility strategies.
- Manage communications for major leadership announcements, strategy rollouts, and organizational changes.
- Prepare executives for town halls, client forums, board presentations, media engagement, and internal leadership meetings.
Internal Communications & Engagement
- Lead communication strategy for U.S./North American sales, marketing, overall growth and business line-specific organizations.
- Partner with business line leaders from service, industry and geography to align best practices in communications that are predictable and consistent across the organization and in synch with enterprise strategy.
- Build communication plans that drive clarity of priorities, roles, and performance expectations.
- Coordinate cadence of town halls, newsletters, leadership messages, and digital channel content.
- Collaborate closely with fellow communication relationship managers to ensure timely, aligned communication strategies and plans.
Marketing & Commercial Alignment
- Work closely with Marketing, Brand, Sales Excellence, and Growth teams to ensure consistent storytelling.
- Provide periodic advisory support for campaigns that drive pipeline, demand generation, and account growth as needed.
- Connect communications to measurable business outcomes, including sales effectiveness, client experience, and revenue goals.
Operational Excellence
- Develop and manage annual communications plans, calendars, and key milestone deliverables.
- Use metrics and feedback to continuously improve communication effectiveness.
- Coordinate across communications centers of excellence (media relations, content, digital, events).
- Manage sensitive information with absolute discretion and professionalism.
Qualifications:
Required
- 8+ years of progressive experience in corporate communications, executive communications, or marketing communications
- Experience in a large professional services, consulting, or complex B2B organization.
- Demonstrated success advising C-suite or senior executives.
- Exceptional writing and storytelling skills.
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution.
- Thrives in ambiguity and influences timely decision making through influence vs. authority.
- Strong project management skills and comfort operating in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
Preferred
- Experience supporting Sales, Growth, Commercial Operations, or Marketing leaders.
- Familiarity with seller enablement, go-to-market strategy, or growth transformation.
- Background in change communications and/or issues management.
