Job Summary
The Network Engineer – Data Center plays a key role in designing, implementing, and maintaining the organization’s mission-critical network infrastructure that supports enterprise and application services. This role focuses on scalable data center networking, automation, and resiliency to ensure high performance, availability, and security across the environment.Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Design & Architecture:
Develop and maintain high-availability data center network architectures, including core, aggregation, and access layers, using modern design principles (leaf-spine, EVPN/VXLAN, etc.). - Implementation & Operations:
Deploy, configure, and support switches, routers, firewalls, and load balancers across multiple data centers. - Automation & Optimization:
Leverage network automation and scripting tools (e.g., Python, Ansible, Git) to streamline configuration management, change validation, and deployment processes. - Monitoring & Troubleshooting:
Utilize observability tools to monitor performance, analyze trends, and proactively resolve complex network issues. - Collaboration:
Partner with infrastructure, cloud, and application teams to design network solutions that meet business requirements. - Documentation & Standards:
Create and maintain technical documentation, configuration standards, and runbooks. - Lifecycle Management:
Manage hardware/software lifecycle and coordinate upgrades or replacements for end-of-life devices. - Security & Compliance:
Ensure compliance with organizational security standards and industry best practices.
Qualifications
- Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience). - Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in enterprise or data center network engineering.
- Proven expertise in Cisco Nexus platforms, ACI, Arista, or Juniper technologies.
- Strong understanding of Layer 2/3 technologies, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, IS-IS), and multicast.
- Experience with load balancing (F5 Load Balancer) and firewalls (F5, Fortinet).
- Familiarity with network automation frameworks and CI/CD workflows.
- Certifications (Preferred):
CCNP/CCIE (Data Center or Enterprise) or equivalent.

Primary Location Pay Range: $88,262.96 - $132,394.44Comcast intends to offer the selected candidate base pay dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience. Base pay is one part of the Total Rewards that Comcast provides to compensate and recognize employees for their work. Most sales positions are eligible for a Commission under the terms of an applicable plan, while most non-sales positions are eligible for a Bonus.
