Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity to deliver strategic, company-wide employee communications for frontline teammates as the Manager, Communications Activity Management. In this role, the Manager will work closely with the Internal Communications department to plan and coordinate communications across all frontline audiences with the audience’s capacity to intake messaging in mind. The Manager will be responsible for coordinating the intake of communications requests, managing the editorial calendar of messaging and activity, working with communicators to ensure work is tracked correctly, ensuring the most appropriate messaging channels are leveraged, and assisting in messaging performance reporting. This role will interact with Senior Leadership to manage scheduling conflicts, report out on planned communications, and use a balance of data, trends and business objectives to prioritize the messaging and implementation schedules. The Manager must also be able to step in and assist with the writing, editing and review of the messaging as needed. This is a dynamic role that requires experience in project management, stakeholdering, strategic communications and analytics.

Job Description

Core Responsibilities

  • Manages the employee communications project management system and editorial calendar, and prepares the editorial calendar with other communications partners weekly.
  • Partners across many areas of the communications team to develop and implement process guidelines, channel governance and content standards.
  • Develops a strategy for sharing communications performance and metrics, including creating charts and presentations.
  • Manages the messaging timelines for employee communications initiatives designed to support key business objectives.
  • Develops benchmarking and metrics to assess the effectiveness and impact of Employee Communications initiatives and tools. Recommends actions based on findings / results.
  • Assists in managing day-to-day communications support and operations.
  • Writes and edits organization-wide communications.
  • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree

Relative Work Experience:

7-8+ years

Qualifications:

  • Education Level: Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, English, Journalism or similar program
  • Related experience in HQ and Corporate environment
  • Combined experienced as a strategic communications practitioner and project manager
  • Accustomed to communicating to large employee audiences
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong professional demeanor and comfort interacting with senior executives across the organization and external contacts
  • Ability to manage team members, vendors, and align people and projects to key business priorities
  • Strong writing, formatting and proofreading skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work within a fast paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Ability to exercise decision making and work independently
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required
  • Strong proficiency with business management software (SharePoint, Smartsheet, etc.)
  • Experience with Video Production software (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Final Cut Pro, etc.) is desirable but not required
  • Regular, consistent, and punctual attendance is required; must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) as necessary
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
