Job Summary

This role is under the Effectv Data Science, Engineering, and Analytics organization reporting to the Sr. Manager within the Data Ops practice, forming the main bridge between business, analytics, and engineering teams. As a lead position on the team, you will be responsible for maintaining the current analytics and data science platform on AWS + Databricks, strengthening the data observability practice and mentoring team members on the best strategies for implementing data pipelines to produce consumable data for timely, self-serve analytics.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Leads the data operations needs for the Insights & Analytics team, providing technical direction and guidance in Spark, Python, AWS Cloud Technologies to address a wide range of advertisement and media related use cases.
  • Develops and maintains enterprise infrastructure by creating efficient, adoptable frameworks to be used across the organization for the data operations platforms in use like Databricks, EMR, AWS services, and 3rd party monitoring tools like Monte Carlo and Datadog
  • Works on aspects of the design, development, and delivery of data solutions in Databricks, including problem definition, testing and evaluation, as well as deploying end-to-end pipelines and solutions in production with Terraform.
  • Helps troubleshoot data pipeline issues and co-ordinate data anomalies across teams as they arise.
  • Assists the management team on executing project road maps, priorities, and driving the adoption of a Data DevOps culture.
  • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
  • Regular, consistent, and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) as necessary.
  • Selected candidate expected to work east coast hours.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications & Tool Familiarity

  • 7-10+ years minimum related data work experience; with minimum 2+ experience in being a lead on a technology team.
  • B.S. in relevant field (E.g., Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering).
  • A strong DevOps, Data Engineering background with working knowledge of data processing, CI/CD, and analytics tools on AWS platform.
  • Experienced in implementing and maintaining data control plane software such as Databricks and cloud services.
  • Hands-on coding experience in python/Scala, Spark, and visualization tool languages like Looker LookML.
  • Expertise in not only debugging and troubleshooting, but also the ability to effectively communicate findings or complex concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Capable of learning and consuming information quickly, but also receptive to levels of ambiguity.
  • Passionate about data and using it to solve difficult problems for the organization at large as well as those of your counterparts.
  • Ability to influence data teams to adopt defined best practices and provide ongoing guidance to more junior data engineers and analysts.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience with Infrastructure as a Service and Terraform Infrastructure as Code.
  • Masters in relevant field of Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering highly preferred.

Compensation

National Pay Range: $88,227.19 USD-$206,782.47 USD

Comcast intends to offer the selected candidate base pay dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience. Base pay is one part of the Total Rewards that Comcast provides to compensate and recognize employees for their work. Most sales positions are eligible for a Commission under the terms of an applicable plan, while most non-sales positions are eligible for a Bonus.
