As the VP of Engineering for Private Cellular Networks, you will play a pivotal role in driving the strategic vision, executing the product roadmap, and ensuring engineering and operational excellence for our private cellular network offerings. You will lead, grow, and inspire a cross-functional team of R&D leaders - engineers, technical experts, program managers, and test personnel to develop and deliver world-class solutions that cater to our clients' diverse needs. Your concepts are strong, and you have a good working knowledge of networking (protocols, forwarding/switching infrastructure, virtualized and cloud native architectures) and cellular (centralized and distributed RAN, 5GC, mobile edge compute). You have also worked extensively on deploying products on public cloud infrastructure like AWS/Azure/GCP. You have a fundamental knowledge of how Machine Learning works and have used those concepts to create better troubleshooting and insights on products you have shipped. You possess the necessary skills to work in a highly collaborative, inclusive, and agile atmosphere in partnership with cross-functional teams. You are the kind of person who is always thinking outside the box but extremely focused on deliveries that are customer facing. You have built up a reputation of “can do” and have extensive followers who believe that if they work with you, they will get to work on some of the most interesting projects in their career. You also have had extensive experience in managing remote teams and developing leaders.
Reporting directly to the SVP of Products, you will provide leadership to an Engineering team spread across many worldwide geographies (Europe, Asia, USA)
What will you do:
Strategic Leadership
- Strategic thinker with a customer-focused mindset and the ability to translate business needs into technical solutions
- Champion new opportunities for innovation and growth within the private cellular network domain, considering emerging technologies and customer demands (e.g. AIOps, Security, Neutral Host Networks, NaaS, etc.)
- Collaborate with the Product Management to align engineering efforts with market needs, competitive response, and customer requirements
- Partner with other business functions (Sales, Sales Engineering, Customer Success, Services, Support, etc.) to ensure successful product launches and market adoption
Engineering Excellence
- Set the engineering vision and build the technical product roadmap. Be deeply involved in the architecture, UX, design, execution, and delivery of secure, scalable private cellular network solutions that can run across various deployment architectures, address different vertical markets, and diverse use cases
- Ensure the consistent application of best engineering management and organizational development practices, quality standards, and efficient development processes within the engineering team
- Foster a culture of innovation, automation, continuous improvement, and technical excellence across the engineering organization
- Attract, mentor, and retain top engineering talent, building a team capable of delivering exceptional results
- Establish key metrics and processes that continuously improve product quality, feature velocity, release predictability, and end-to-end automation
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate with legal, regulatory, and privacy teams to ensure compliance with internal processes, relevant industry standards, security regulations, and certifications
- Engage with key stakeholders and customers to gather insights, validate product direction, and build strong relationships with other Business Units/Product Development Units inside Ericsson
The skills you bring:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Twenty (20+) years of work experience, with a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Computer Science
- Fifteen (15+) years of leadership track record in global engineering roles, ideally within the telecommunications or networking industry
- Strong understanding of wireless (preferably cellular) technologies and fundamentals, including Wi-Fi, 4G/LTE, 5G Radio and Core Network, Mobility and Security, NHN, DAS, and beyond
- Strong expertise with agile software-development methodology, CI/CD pipeline development, and deployment of SaaS services
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders
- Results-oriented mindset with a focus on achieving business objectives and driving growth
- Critical thinking skills to make intelligent and defendable decisions in a fast-paced environment
- Fifteen (15+) years of experience with cloud technology having delivered cloud managed product offerings with a focus on DevOps best practices
- Deep understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and DevOps tools (Kubernetes, Docker, Jenkins, etc.)
- Hands-on approach with the ability to dive deep into technical details
- Strong understanding and experience with SaaS business models, subscription monetization strategies, and recurring revenue models
- Travel Requirement: Must be willing to travel at least 25% to international sites like Gothenburg, Bengaluru, Aachen etc.

Your Pay
The salary range for this position is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, and the candidate’s combination of job-related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience.
The salary range for this position is
• Santa Clara: $267,600- $401,400
Short-Term Variable Compensation Plan: Your pay also includes the opportunity for an annual bonus. Actual bonus payouts are based on performance of the business against the unit’s objectives, individual performance, and the individual bonus target. Certain eligibility and pro-ration rules apply.

Please note paid time off is pro-rated based on the employee’s start date. Furthermore, Ericsson provides up to 16 weeks of paid maternity leave and 6 weeks of parental or adoption leave at 100% of pay.
