About this opportunity:

We are looking for an Equipment Engineer in the Maintenance team and reports directly to the Maintenance Manager within the USA 5G Smart Factory (EFA). This role provides technical support for the Lewisville factory site and oversees the installation, performance, and reliability of the various production equipment within their assigned respective areas. The Equipment Engineer’ plays a critical role in production equipment introduction into the factory and the setup of post installation services provided by EFA Maintenance team. Equipment Engineer also sits within cross-functional teams to provide input, recommendations and share lessons learned in the projects, NPI/TPI and automation discussions.

What you will do:

  • Coordinate with EFA Facilities team and vendors to ensure proper equipment utility setup, installation, commissioning, rigging activities, and service provisioning, including managing vendor support contracts, warranties, and software licenses.
  • Establish and manage preventative and predictive maintenance programs in CMMS, including initial spare parts ordering, setup, and ongoing management.
  • Drive equipment modifications and hardware/software integration to enhance performance, while supporting operational process integration into Maintenance Team scope.
  • Support Maintenance Technicians through troubleshooting assistance, training activities, and conducting root cause analysis of repeat faults to inform preventive maintenance and equipment improvements.
  • Participate actively in internal and cross-functional Factory Continuous Improvement initiatives and stakeholder forums to align on factory strategies, planning, equipment status, and risk communication.
  • Analyze equipment performance and reliability to develop programs that increase uptime, reduce costs, and incorporate OEM safety updates, upgrades, and technical notices.
  • Assist in evaluating and selecting new equipment for factory expansion, leveraging lessons learned, and define, write, and revise preventative maintenance procedures, standard operating procedures, and training documents.

The skills you bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or related Engineering field with production equipment experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Extensive knowledge of manufacturing processes, industrial equipment, PLC logic, automated robots, and various equipment controls.
  • Proficient with tool monitoring and interdiction software, and able to read blueprints and schematics.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated, able to take initiative, committed to high-quality work, and capable of working under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
  • Mechanical and metal fabrication experience is a plus.
  • Ability to work extended or flexible hours when required.
  • Physically capable of lifting a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Demonstrated drive for results and adaptability in dynamic manufacturing settings.

Your Pay
The salary range for this position is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, and the candidate’s combination of job-related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience.

Short-Term Variable Compensation Plan: Your pay also includes the opportunity for an annual bonus. Actual bonus payouts are based on performance of the business against the unit’s objectives, individual performance, and the individual bonus target. Certain eligibility and pro-ration rules apply.

Employees will receive company credits in an amount equal to the cost that Ericsson pays toward the cost of their medical and dental premiums for themselves and eligible covered dependents.

Your Financial Security

We invest in both your short and long-term financial wellbeing. The Ericsson US 401(k) Plan offers an automatic 3% company contribution and Ericsson matches $1 for every $1 you put into the 401(k) Plan on the first 3% of your eligible pay, plus 50 cents on every $1 on the next 2% of eligible pay. When you contribute at least 5% of eligible pay, you are receiving Ericsson’s full matching contributions. Matching and company automatic contributions stop when your total eligible pay for the year reaches the IRS limits. Employees will also receive company credits in an amount equal to the cost of basic life insurance and basic accidental death and dismemberment coverage, as well as short-term and long-term disability coverage. Employees also have the option to participate in Ericsson’s Stock Purchase Plan.

Your Time
Your work-life balance is important to us. New employees are provided a minimum of 15 days of accrued vacation, up to 3 personal days per year, 11 annual holidays, 8 hours of volunteer time, and 80 hours of sick time annually. Please note paid time off is pro-rated based on the employee’s start date. Furthermore, Ericsson provides up to 16 weeks of paid maternity leave and 6 weeks of parental or adoption leave at 100% of pay.
