Position Summary
Introduction
As a Sustainability & Workplace Specialist, you will help shape and advance Deloitte’s workplace strategy across the real estate portfolio, including existing offices, relocations, and newly acquired or developed spaces. This role sits at the intersection of sustainability, well-being, workplace experience, and project delivery.
You will work across strategy, transactions, workplace planning, construction, and operations to help translate firm priorities into scalable workplace solutions and project outcomes. In addition to supporting portfolio optimization efforts, you will lead and coordinate workstreams that integrate sustainability targets, well-being strategies, and workplace standards into capital projects from concept through implementation.
This role requires a strategic mindset, strong stakeholder management, and the ability to turn business objectives into actionable sustainability, well-being, and delivery decisions across a complex portfolio.

Work you’ll do
As a Workplace Sustainability & Workplace Specialist, you will:
- Support the development and execution of workplace strategies across Deloitte’s real estate portfolio, with emphasis on sustainability, well-being, portfolio optimization, and user experience
- Lead or support strategic workstreams that integrate sustainability and WELL priorities into real estate projects from planning through construction
- Partner with internal real estate leaders, consultants, and cross-functional stakeholders to align project outcomes with firmwide workplace standards and business priorities
- Develop workplace strategy analyses, business cases, feasibility assessments, leadership presentations, and decision-support materials
- Coordinate with project teams to embed sustainability goals and well-being features into project scope, documentation, specifications, and implementation requirements
- Track and evaluate project and portfolio performance against workplace, sustainability, and operational KPIs
- Support the evolution and application of workplace standards, sustainability guidelines, and well-being strategies across markets
- Contribute to sustainability implementation efforts including embodied carbon considerations, material selection, circularity, waste diversion, and energy performance goals
- Support WELL-related portfolio activities, including maintenance of well-being guidelines, project-level implementation, and biannual WELL at scale submissions
- Facilitate stakeholder engagement by gathering input, synthesizing feedback, resolving competing priorities, and advancing decisions that balance local needs with firmwide standards
- Partner with finance, IT, security, procurement, communications, and other business teams to support integrated project delivery
- Identify risks, issues, and trade-offs related to scope, cost, schedule, quality, and sustainability outcomes, and help drive resolution
- Maintain strong project governance, reporting, and documentation practices while enabling strategic decision-making and execution

The team
The Deloitte Real Estate team serves an internal capacity to deliver strategic real estate, workplace, and facility solutions that foster collaboration, support innovation, and advance well-being and sustainability goals. The team manages a portfolio of more than 160 offices across five countries and works across functions to align real estate decisions with business needs, employee experience, and long-term portfolio performance.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in architecture, interior experience, workplace strategy, sustainability, real estate, engineering, or a related field
- 4+ years of experience in workplace, corporate real estate, sustainability, architecture, interiors, or related project delivery environments
- Experience supporting or leading workstreams across the real estate project lifecycle, including planning and implementation
- Experience with workplace strategy, standards, sustainability integration, or well-being programs within capital projects or portfolio initiatives
- Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including development of presentations, analyses, and executive correspondence
- Strong relationship management and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Demonstrated ability to synthesize stakeholder input and support decision-making across multiple constituencies
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills, including PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship, now or in the future
- Ability to travel 25%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve
Preferred
- Experience in corporate real estate within a professional services or similarly complex portfolio environment
- Experience with workplace standards or multi-location planning programs
- Experience with sustainability strategy and implementation, including LEED, WELL, decarbonization, embodied carbon, material selection, circularity, or energy performance
- Experience supporting WELL certification or WELL at scale programs
- Experience preparing materials for executive, leadership, or governance forums
The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $84,300 to $155,400.
You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
