Position Summary

Job Title: Specialist Leader – AI & Data Solution Architecture, Energy & Chemicals

Work You'll Do

As a Specialist Leader in AI & Data Solution Architecture within Deloitte’s Energy & Chemicals practice, you’ll leverage deep industry experience and advanced technical expertise to drive transformative client outcomes. You will architect, design, and implement next-generation data and AI solutions that address the evolving challenges facing clients across Oil & Gas, Power & Utilities, Chemicals, and Renewables.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the end-to-end architecture and delivery of enterprise-scale AI and data solutions for Energy & Chemicals clients, focusing on scalability, reliability, security, and business value
  • Translate business objectives and regulatory requirements into actionable solution architectures, leveraging AI/ML, advanced analytics, and cloud-native data technologies
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product management, data engineering, data science, and client stakeholders to design and build robust data & AI platforms
  • Develop technical roadmaps and reference architectures that support integrated analytics, IoT, digital twin, smart operations, and predictive maintenance initiatives
  • Apply domain knowledge to advise on data governance, compliance, and data monetization strategies relevant to the Energy & Chemicals sector
  • Mentor a team of architects, engineers, and consultants, fostering skill development in advanced analytics, data engineering, and cloud ecosystem
  • Contribute to Deloitte thought leadership, eminence, and go-to-market activities in AI, data, and digital transformation for the Energy & Chemicals industry

You’ll join a collaborative, innovative team that is passionate about modernizing operations, improving sustainability, and unlocking new value through technology.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or related field; advanced degree preferred
  • 8+ years of experience in solution architecture or technology leadership roles with a focus on AI, machine learning, and data platforms
  • 5+ years of direct experience architecting data and/or AI solutions within the Energy & Chemicals sector (Oil & Gas, Utilities, Chemicals, etc.)
  • Demonstrated expertise in designing and implementing solutions on public cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP)
  • Strong proficiency in data engineering and management (e.g., data lakes, data warehousing, ETL, real-time data streaming)
  • Experience deploying and operationalizing ML/AI models at scale in industrial or asset-intensive environments
  • Solid understanding of energy operations, regulatory requirements, and major industry trends impacting digital transformation
  • Ability to travel up to 50% on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve
  • Limited immigration sponsorship may be available

Preferred:

  • Experience with IoT integration, digital twin, and real-time analytics in the energy or chemical manufacturing context
  • Familiarity with leading data and AI tools/platforms (Databricks, Snowflake, Azure Synapse, SageMaker, etc.)
  • Certifications in cloud architecture, data engineering, or AI/ML technologies
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills; ability to lead workshops and executive presentations
  • Proven track record of team leadership, mentorship, and talent development
