Full Time Global Trade Technology Consultant, Global Trade Advisory (GTA)

Deloitte has a market leading, worldwide network of global trade specialists experienced in global trade strategy, trade automation, export controls, and import/export compliance. Deloitte’s GTA operates as part of a global network of global trade professionals who help importers and exporters improve global trade compliance, pursue process efficiencies, and identify new opportunities in their global supply chains.

In an increasingly global business environment with increasingly complex businesses and operating models, our clients need to transform and enhance their global trade organizations and capabilities to not only manage compliance with import and export requirements in various countries around the globe, but also to implement effective operational management of their organization’s global trade activities.

GTA technology professionals focus on implementing global trade technology solutions and/or global trade data and analytics related to trade compliance. Consultants will have the opportunity to expand their business expertise and experience, develop business acumen, and grow invaluable skills related to client service delivery. Further, consultants may have opportunities to travel to client locations around the world as part of the delivery of services.

What you’ll do

Consultants deployed on automation projects will design, build, test, and implement detailed global trade systems by working on global engagements spanning a broad spectrum of industries and regulatory compliance domains. They work with multinational companies to understand international trade and related business requirements.

Consultants may also support data analytics projects to automate existing processes, fill in gaps that are not addressed by core Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) tools, or create value added data visualizations for client stakeholders.

Responsibilities will include:

· Work with clients to assess and automate their international trade management procedures.

· Collect business and regulatory requirements during workshops with client business owners and conduct fit/gap analyses to determine where standard system solutions may require custom developments.

· Assist with the planning, assessment, and exploration of automated import and export solutions.

· Drive the functional design and configuration of systematic solutions to global trade compliance requirements.

· Coordinate with developers to build and test custom developments to enhance the standard global trade tool.

· Rationalize data by building and enhancing data workflows to meet any trade compliance gaps.

· Conduct system testing and documentation associated with solutions implemented.

· Train the business, technical, or operational key users via knowledge transfers of the global trade solution.

· Be part of a global team that advises US and multinational companies on import and export strategies and compliance.

The successful consultant will be able to demonstrate:

· Leadership, problem solving, critical thinking, and strong verbal and written communication skills;

· Ability to prioritize tasks, work on multiple assignments, and manage ambiguity;

· Ability to work both independently and as part of a team with professionals at all levels;

· Interest in international trade or international business technologies; and

· Strong research, writing, communication, and project management skills.

Required Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, economics, engineering, mathematics, political science, international studies, supply chain, transportation/logistics, or statistics

· Strong academic track record (minimum GPA of 3.0)

· Ability to travel up to 80% both domestically and internationally

· Data management and analysis experience

· Ability to perform job responsibilities within in a hybrid work model that requires professionals to co-locate in person 2 – 3 days per week

· Limited immigration sponsorship may be available

· Candidates must be at least 18 years of age at the time of employment.

· The start date for this position will be in Summer 2026

Preferred Qualifications:

· Advanced Degree in in information technology, computer science, economics, engineering, mathematics, political science, international studies, supply chain, transportation/logistics, or statistics

· Experience with US and Non-US compliance regulations

· Experience with SAP Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) functional areas:

o SAP ECC 6.0 or SAP S/4 HANA

o Sales and Distribution

o Material Management

o Transportation Management

· Experience with Oracle or other ERP systems

· Experience with Global Trade Management (GTM) software such as SAP GTS, Oracle GTM, Integration Point, or Amber Road

· Experience with data analysis using tools such as Alteryx, Databricks, and Jira, or with coding languages generally

· Experience with Document Management Systems (DMS) such as OpenText

· Experience with Robotic Process Automation (RPA) solutions and business applications

· Experience with Artificial Intelligence (AI) solutions and business applications

· Foreign language skills, study abroad, or international travel experience

· Strong academic credentials (GPA of 3.25 or higher)

· Relevant work experience (e.g., internships, summer positions, school jobs, research fellowships/positions)

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $54160 to $99600.
