Position Summary

Controllership Financial Reporting Senior Consultant

Required Skills (Quantifiable Skills/Experience)

  • 4+ years of technical or advisory experience in entity and enterprise accounting, finance transformation, technical and/or operational accounting, financial planning and analysis, or cost accounting.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Technology, Risk Management, Economics, or related field.
  • Professional Certification: CPA, CIA, CFA, CA, CCA, CMA, CAIA, or FRM; or actively pursuing one.
  • Automation experience: Delivering client work using automation, including building Alteryx workflows or leveraging M365 Copilot.
  • Knowledge of accounting standards: Familiarity with U.S. GAAP, IFRS, and SEC rules and regulations.
  • MS Office proficiency: Advanced skills in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Travel readiness: Willingness and ability to travel up to 50%, depending on projects and client locations.
  • Legal authorization: Must be authorized to work in the United States without need for employer sponsorship.

Preferred Skills (Soft Skills & Non-Quantifiable Abilities)

  • Master’s degree in Business, Systems, or Accounting.
  • Operational and financial controls: Experience in internal controls, including Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.
  • ERP experience: Background as a user or administrator of ERP Finance and Reporting packages (SAP, Oracle, Workday, JDE, etc).
  • Project management capabilities: Experience in process mapping, root cause/gap analysis, requirements gathering, financial modeling, and value mapping.
  • Relationship management: Skilled in building and maintaining productive day-to-day relationships.
  • Creative, solution-oriented mindset: Ability to generate innovative ideas to challenge the status quo and improve delivery methods.
  • Engagement planning & risk management: Experience in planning, budgeting, structuring work products, and managing engagement economics and risk.
  • Proposal development: Involvement in developing proposals and client pitches.
  • Team engagement: Participation in recruiting and retention activities.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $118,700-218,600.

You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
