Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Outreach and Partnership Management: Identify, cultivate, and manage high-level relationships with key external stakeholders, including business executives, public figures, and leaders from non-profits, faith-based, social service, and public service organizations to align their interests with Dallas College's strategic priorities.
  • Community Engagement and Pipeline Development: Design and implement impactful outreach strategies and youth initiatives that feed into the future student pipeline. Actively participate in community events, parades, and celebrations to enhance college visibility and attract prospective students.
  • Event Planning and Execution: Lead the planning and execution of high-level and signature events at the college. Coordinate participation in external community-focused events to promote the college and its resources.
  • Center Operations Management: Oversee center operations related to room reservations for partners and potential clients, ensuring a seamless and welcoming experience that showcases the college's resources.
  • Cross-Collaborative Strategy: Partner with various teams and divisions throughout the college to create and implement strategies that serve as resources and tools to bring community members, students, partners, and businesses to the college.
  • Impact Reporting and Monitoring: Establish and oversee systems for tracking the progress and impact of partnerships and outreach initiatives. Generate comprehensive reports that articulate the benefits, outcomes, and return on investment for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Relationship Management: Serve as a primary point of contact for key external partners, ensuring effective communication, addressing concerns, and fostering strong, long-term relationships built on mutual understanding and shared goals.
  • Partnership Model Development: Research and analyze various partnership models to identify innovative and sustainable approaches for Dallas College. Develop and present tailored partnership proposals to executive leadership.
  • Executive Support: Provide strategic counsel and support to the Vice Chancellor of External Relations and other executive leaders on matters related to outreach and external partnerships, including preparing briefing materials, presentations, and reports.
  • Data Analysis and Insights: Utilize data and analytics to evaluate the effectiveness of partnership and outreach initiatives, identify trends, and provide actionable insights to inform future strategies.
  • Representation: Represent Dallas College at high-level external meetings, events, and conferences to cultivate relationships and promote the institution's partnership and outreach agenda.
  • Compliance and Stewardship: Ensure all partnership activities adhere to ethical standards, legal requirements, and Dallas College policies. Oversee the appropriate stewardship of partner contributions and recognition of their support.
  • Evaluation and Continuous Improvement: Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess program effectiveness, participant progress, satisfaction, and completion outcomes; use insights to refine program models and demonstrate ROI.
  • Building and Developing Teams: Responsible for assembling a talented team, fostering a positive work environment, and developing the skills and capabilities of team members.
  • Team Leadership and Operational Oversight: Supervise and develop high-performing teams, manage staffing plans, budgets, and resources to ensure program sustainability and growth in alignment with the college’s strategic workforce development mission.
  • Decision-Making: Make informed and timely decisions that align with the organization’s goals and values.
  • Completes required Dallas College Professional Development training hours per academic year.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Regular and predictable attendance at assigned work location.

The following essential duties and responsibilities are also required for People Leader positions specifically:

  • Exercise full discretion and decision-making authority in recruitment, selection, hiring, mentoring, coaching, development & performance evaluation of staff, ensuring alignment with applicable laws, college policies, organizational goals, budgetary constraints, and workforce planning strategies.

Manage and drive high performance by administering the performance management process timely, setting clear expectations, conducting performance evaluations, and implementing initiatives that enhance employee engagement, motivation, and retention.

Minimum and Preferred – Education, Experience, and/or Certifications

Minimum Requirements for Position (necessary or mandatory)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Relations, Communications, Non-Profit Management, or a related field.
  • 7–10 years of progressive experience in partnership development, community outreach, event management, relationship management, or external affairs (preferably within higher education or non-profit settings).
  • Demonstrated success in cultivating and managing high-level relationships with stakeholders (business leaders, public figures, community organizations).
  • Official transcript will be required.

Other Preferred Qualifications for Role (not mandatory, but advantageous)

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Public Relations, Communications, Non-Profit Management, or a related field.
  • Bilingual or multilingual preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Required Qualifications for Role (necessary or mandatory)

  • Proven track record of successfully cultivating and managing high-level relationships with external stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of partnership models, community engagement strategies, and student pipeline development.
  • Excellent research, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data and generate insightful reports.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills, including the ability to articulate complex information clearly and persuasively to a wide range of audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver compelling presentations and proposals.
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills with the ability to build rapport and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM or similar database management systems.
  • Commitment to the mission and values of Dallas College.

Other Preferred Qualifications for Role (not mandatory, but advantageous)

  • Experience working with public figures, business executives, and community leaders in the Dallas-Fort Worth region.
  • Familiarity with the higher education landscape and the challenges and opportunities facing community colleges.
  • Experience in developing impact reports and measuring the outcomes of partnership and outreach initiatives.
  • Demonstrated experience representing an organization at high-level events, conferences, or in the public sphere.
  • Expertise in developing innovative partnership models and long-term strategic alliances.
  • Experience overseeing center operations, event planning at a senior level, and large-scale community initiatives.

Familiarity with compliance requirements, stewardship best practices, and executive-level support.
