Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership & Vision
- Define and execute the technical roadmap for network and transport services aligned with business growth objectives and customer requirements
- Lead capacity planning and network expansion initiatives to support nationwide data center growth
- Drive innovation in service delivery, automation, and operational efficiency across both network and transport domains
- Manage departmental budget, vendor relationships, and capital expenditure planning for network infrastructure
Operational Excellence
- Oversee the delivery of DIA (Dedicated Internet Access), MPLS/VPLS, managed DNS, and DWDM transport services ensuring 99.9%+ uptime SLAs
- Architect and maintain DDoS mitigation strategies including detection platforms, traffic scrubbing, and incident response procedures for volumetric and application-layer attacks
- Establish and maintain operational processes, procedures, and documentation for both teams
- Lead incident response for major network events and drive continuous improvement through root cause analysis
- Implement monitoring, automation, and orchestration strategies to improve service reliability and reduce MTTR
- Own future strategy of defining a next generation network that can support the dynamic requirements of the business today along with adapting to changing requirements
Team Leadership & Development
- Build, mentor, and retain high-performing Network Engineering and Transport Operations teams
- Foster collaboration between engineering and transport teams to optimize end-to-end service delivery
- Develop team capabilities in network automation, programmability, and modern DevOps practices
- Establish clear performance metrics, career development paths, and technical training programs
- Partner with NOC, Customer Support, and Sales Engineering teams to ensure seamless customer experience
Technical Oversight
- Provide architectural guidance on BGP routing, MPLS/VPLS implementations, and DNS infrastructure design
- Drive standardization of network equipment, configurations, and operational practices across all data center locations
- Evaluate and implement new technologies including SDN, network automation, and next-generation optical transport
- Ensure network security, compliance, and adherence to industry best practices
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in service provider networking with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role
- Deep technical expertise in BGP, OSPF/IS-IS, MPLS/VPLS, and Layer 2/3 network design
- Strong understanding of DWDM, optical transport systems, and fiber infrastructure
- Experience in designing and implementing DDoS mitigation strategies in service provider environments
- Demonstrated experience implementing network automation
- Proficiency with automation tools, both code and no-code
- Proven experience managing teams of 10+ engineers and technical specialists
- Track record of delivering large-scale network projects in multi-site data center environments
- Experience translating business, customer, and market insights into clear network and transport strategies; acts decisively to drive execution, operational excellence, and measurable outcomes.
- Strong capability in building, developing, and retaining high-performing, inclusive technical teams; setting clear expectations, empowering ownership, and aligning talent and capabilities with enterprise priorities.
- Leading with integrity and credibility; partnering effectively across technical, operational, and executive stakeholders to drive alignment, manage complexity, and lead change.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related field (Master's Preferred)
- CCIE, JNCIE, or equivalent expert-level certification
- Experience with DNS infrastructure and DDoS mitigation platforms (DigiCert, Arbor Networks, NetScout, Cloudflare, A10 Networks, or similar)
- Familiarity with network automation platforms (Cisco NSO, Itential, Ansible)
- Familiarity with Cisco, Juniper, Arista platforms and DWDM vendors (Ciena, Infinera, etc.)
- Background in wholesale & carrier relationships and interconnection ecosystems
- Experience with ITIL, vendor management, and contract negotiations
- Strong financial acumen including P&L responsibility
